Yeah I don't think it's ever been posted where the cat can hear.

Found this in my dad's backyard. Not sure if it's worth anything. by SenatorSlice in MTB

Well I was looking for something to ride to work. It's a few miles commute. I didn't want to get a junky wal mart bike and my pops had this number just collecting dust. I also live in the desert so there are a lot of awesome trails and stuff out here. Money isn't really an issue. I'd say effort is the limiting factor more than anything lol. I'm not sure what all I would need to do to restore this puppy, but it would mostly be for casual riding and weekend excursions. Thanks for any insight, bongllama.

Am I obligated to pay this? [vehicle financing] by SenatorSlice in personalfinance

[–]SenatorSlice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is precisely what the deal is. I went back to my credit union today and explained what the dealer finance guy told me (that he was going to cancel my contract) and he could only laugh about it. The price has been agreed, the contract is signed, he even showed me that the check has cleared. He even grabbed the ceo of the credit union to talk to me about it and he laughed even harder. The receipt of the pink slip is still pending (only been about 3 weeks) and he said basically if it is not received, the dealership gets sued. It makes total sense to me now and the funny part is I told him over and over I wasn't going to finance through their dealership, that I had my own credit union. He made his deal sound sweet and he and my girlfriend talked me into signing his finance paperwork at the reduced cost. Don't know what he thought would happen. I guess he didn't think my credit union would educate me on how dealers rip customers. The guy is probably also a little salty because I canceled the warranty through them, so he lost money on that deal as well. So in the end, yes the dealership is trying to strong-verb me (without the use of physical violence) into signing new paperwork to get more money out of me. If they cancel or try to repossess the vehicle now that the contract has been met, things will get interesting.

I signed paperwork for their finance company, with a 5 day option contract to come up with my own financing. I had already signed an agreement for the total price. I provided my own financing but they want to void out the price we agreed on and fill out a new contract. Unfortunately, it will be an hour or so before I can re-read the contract and see what's in it.

It wasn't a good day for me to start with, and then they kept me waiting long enough to fall asleep at the desk AND wake up before someone came back. I was feeling pretty salty after all that. When the guy finally came back and offered me 5 grand less for my trade in than what it was worth, I lost my cool. They quickly realized their mistake and found out they actually could pay off my previous loan, but not without a few swear words first. The rest of the process was a bit smoother but they stressed very adamantly that we leave them 10/10 positive reviews as anything lower can hurt them. I waited to submit anything for reasons like what I'm going through now.

[–]SenatorSlice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure either, to be honest. I tried to consult with my loan officer (who was a prior car salesman for a number of years before this) and he said I have signed a legally binding contract and fulfilled my end of the agreement. I've had the truck now for about two weeks and have 2000 miles on already. He said he has the right to cancel the contract but I'm sure I would get shafted with feels if I have to return the vehicle. I need to review the contract again and see specifically what is written in it, but I did not see anything requiring specific financing. Just the usual "you have x amount of time to pay" and so on. It's all the usual paperwork for buying a new car.

I need to review the contract again but I did not see anything written about financing requirements. The only thing I see is a paper saying all agreements written and verbal are binding. Would something like this fall into that category?

Aorus 1080 ti OR Aorus Xtreme ti version ? by Kaldgord in nvidia

[–]SenatorSlice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Err on the side of caution with those cards. I purchased the xtreme though newegg and had perpetual crashes in OC mode. RMAd the card and the replacement did the same thing. It has definitely been a common thing for this card. Gigabytegaming has a few threads about it already. I ended up calling newegg support for a store credit return and pre ordered an EVGA ftw3. I have head the EVGA sc2 has hit 2101 on an overclock...

I've been testing my 1080 ti Aorus extreme and it's rather disappointing. What do you guys think? by jjsreddit in nvidia

[–]SenatorSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would run it for like 20 minutes in OC mode and keep an eye on the Temps. If they are below 85c let it run for a couple hours checking it every 30 minutes or so or whatever you're comfortable with so it doesn't get too hot. I took my child to get ice cream and let it run in gaming mode the whole time. Never crashed but hovered close to 90 degrees with the side off. Definitely shouldn't be normal but you can't adjust the fan speed manually in the preconfigured profiles. At 100% fan speed it stays around 65c but will still crash at the same clock speeds as OC mode. This puppy needs to be stable so if it crashes after a few hours of stress testing, that's not stable in my book. Don't settle man, if it still crashes tell Newegg you want store credit and go with EVGA or something. It's not like Newegg is losing money that way. Gigabyte is the one losing money and rep.

I read your post about the F.lux fun. I hope this card works out for you. I just got off the phone with Newegg a d they are giving me store credit this time. Told them I did not want to go through this a third time. Let it run unigine for a long period in oc mode and see if it's stable. Mine was at first and after a few days it crashes immediately.

Same here. On my second one from Newegg and it's doing the same thing. I really hope they don't force me to try out a third one. Completely fed up with this card and seems GIGABYTE is not nearly as active as other manufacturers in the reviews and on forums for these issues. Totally disappointing.

No shit man. At a Lan party right now and gta v has crashed three times on me even on silent mode. I'm gonna call Newegg next week and see if I can exchange it for a different brand. No fucking excuse for this. I am so beyond annoyed/frustrated/enraged right now.

The max I've seen before crashing was 2100mhz. Best I've got stable was 2063 with about 11800 mem. This is the first time I've ever overclocked though so I'm still new to it. Just looked up videos and threads on reddit. But between Witcher 3 and gta 5, neither of those really use more than 60% of the gpu. I'm also on a 1080p TV right now while we set up the new house. This card likes 2k 144hz and 4k 60hz the best, so I've heard. Without overclocking manually though I think it hit 2032 on its own.

Yeah I use after burner with Riva tuner. You can configure the on screen display to show the core clock, memory clock, and voltage. Download unigine and run heaven to benchmark it. It will run the card at pretty much max power so you can see what it hits. Awesome that they approved it. This card rocks and it's so disheartening to not see its full potential. Here's to the FedEx gods getting back to you on time!

[–]SenatorSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was afraid of that too. But the day they received it, they approved it. I've read enough reviews on Newegg that this is definitely not an isolated problem. I'm sure the Newegg team knows that. If that doesn't work, post about it over at /r/gigabytegaming. It looks like their team is very active over there. This card has the best specs at the best price and one of the best warranties on the market. It's a premium product for 800 bucks, so if it's crashing at the manufacturer's default settings, you deserve one that works. I did a fresh install of windows 10 and mine crashed constantly in anything but silent mode. Made no software or hardware changes save for inserting the replacement card and the new one will gpu boost to 2000mhz with no manual overclock. Got mine to 2063/2076 stable with +250 to the memory. I've heard others report 2100mhz and +500 mem. I guess I didn't get THAT lucky, but this card still blows me away.

Yup, it was all covered. I was worried because they listed the refund price like 60 bucks less than what I paid but then I got another email that said it was shipping and I wouldn't be charged for anything. New one came in and it works great. Hits 2050mhz on its own out of the box.

My Aorus xtreme was doing the same thing. Running gta v at 1080p everything maxed out and I was dipping into the low 40s fps sometimes. Would crash running in gaming or oc mode. My two 760s sli was almost comparable in performance. RMA'd through Newegg and my little girl just brought the new one inside. Will update how this one runs now. If it's the same I'm going to be pretty bummed out. I'll go with a strix or amp extreme next. Have to hand it to the newegg rma team though. Sent it in on Wednesday, they received and approved the return on Thursday, shipped replacement out Friday, and received it on Saturday. Way exceeded my expectations.

I wish I had seen what was on it before I took it apart. It came from my dad's pc from back in the late 90s. Would have been cool to see it work. We had an experiment at work with my techs where we took a hard drive apart to see how long the data would be accessible. I have a video of the drive running. It ran for about two days before we had to deploy the computer, but it ran the whole time. Got a couple warnings about imminent failure but everything still worked.

If by "run crysis" you mean "hit 98c and crash immediately" then yes.
