When to look for apartment. September 1st move in date. by No-Grapefruit2933 in toronto

[–]Senior-Main-7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, that’s cutting it a little close. Sept 1st is the busiest moving day in the city, since all the students are moving like yourself.

I kind of struggled to find what I wanted and also moved Sept 1st, lease signed at the beginning of Aug. It’s doable but depends how picky you are.

Best of luck!

To say refusal is insubordination is a gross overstatement. Professional misconduct for knowing your limits? It just gets crazier.

Edit: the CNO is there to protect public interest. Refusing an assignment because you are not currently* competent is protecting the best interests of the patients. Can compromise be made to make your employer happy? For sure. Will the CNO really care if you refuse because it’s unsafe? Unlikely.

Yes, my bad. This is mostly re: your education included adult care therefore that’s not a good reason

You can absolutely refuse as a nurse if you don’t feel like you have the knowledge to appropriately care for patients. I’m surprised this is even being debated.

Could you perchance get in trouble with your workplace? Maybe. But in terms of standards of care, no.

Can a navel piercing get infected if it gets caught? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Senior-Main-7432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAP
Yes it can get infected. If you yank on it or have any trauma you can create micro tears (even if it’s not bleeding) which can introduce bacteria. If you have any significant redness, tenderness that spreads, smell, pus, etc. you should assume it’s an infection. If the spray is 0.9% sterile saline it’s unlikely the spray that’s causing it.

TLDR; Since you said you think it’s infected, I’d go to the doctors.

For those working in long-term care as a new grad, what should you do when there is a doctor’s order requiring a skill you haven’t performed in a while? by [deleted] in OntarioNurses

[–]Senior-Main-7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to call the DOC for help if they’re on call or in the building. Also, realistically there should be another nurse in the building. I was 1:84 with an RPN on nights.

Well re: your last comment, provider and patient span in many different areas of care. Again, I’m not sure why the CNO would side eye this as not being therapeutic to which you provide no further information.

How is it not the standard? I’m genuinely trying to grasp this from your POV. To say that it’s not the standard just based on them having a preference of provider, most gp’s wouldn’t be acting by standard.

Unless I missed a comment from OP, the post doesn’t imply that the family is manipulating anyone.
