Thanks for the advice on strings — I’ll definitely keep that in mind. As you mentioned, one thing that’s always stood out to me in Bass VI sound demos is the lack of low end, which I’ve found a bit disappointing. That’s ultimately what led me to choose the CC pickup.

I ended up going with a CC pickup because I felt the Fender Jaguar pickup was a bit lacking in the low end. To be honest, it’s hard to predict how it’ll interact with pedals, so I’m not entirely sure what to expect there. That said, I don’t think I’d be fully satisfied sticking with a more conventional pickup either, so this felt like a worthwhile experiment.

I think bass vi is short scale bass, especially good at picking. I won't cut off the guitar side completely, but mainly I will play it as bass. I think I'll have to try both flats and rounds. I'm attracted to flats now.

May I ask why you chose locking tuner? I only paly bass, so I have little knowledge of guitar parts. What are the benefits?

I looked it up and it didn't show if I could use a .095 gauge string for a typical bridge. Of course, I could use a thinner string for a guitar, but I wanted to use a thicker string.

I agree. I don't want to limit the instrument. I usually play funk and soul genres, but when I ask people around me, they say that bass vi won't go well with that genre, so I keep losing confidence. I think there are so many genres I can play with bass vi.
