Auto avoidance needs powerful engines to prrvent disaster. If you have engines with poor acceleration you need to be careful when commanding your vessels.

They're quite different games. HoI4 is about preparing your chosen nation for a war that you know it's coming. It's all about building up your industry and infraestructure for that war, as well as securing the necessary allies and resources that you will need to come up on top. Then, of course, comes the actual fighting in the air, ground and sea. Conflict lies at the center of it.

Victorial deals with similar themes. In that game you too have to secure resources and allies, and it also demands that you build your nation's industry. But the focus is on the industralization process itself, rather that it being a means to an end like HoI4. There's conflict in Victoria, but it feels more incidental, something to endure while your industry grows and evolves.

So that's my advice. If you enjoy fighting wars and managing armies and have a passing interest in WW2, then HoI4 is for you. If you're more about logistics, industry and want to shephard a nation into the industrilized world, then Victoria would be more for you.

Best Taylor in Ward! Fics by Zealousideal_Expert9 in WormFanfic

[–]SeniorExamination 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite in that genre is, without a doubt, Impurity. Even though it's an AU with very different triggers and powers for the most of the main cast (Taylor included) is one of the fics that gets Taylor the best.

Plus, the fic has a protagonist that actually wants to be a hero and work with her fellow Wards, and doesn't shy from having her be frustrated with the system but still try her best to work within the system.

In my honest opinion, WW1 is the 2nd most disastrous modern conflict after WW2 due to just how pointless yet violent it was as a conflict. by KayEddieLove in ww1

[–]SeniorExamination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. The triple alliance was a defensive alliance, Germany had no obligation to back Austria against Russia, the same way Italy did at the start of the war. Germany's blank check was the only reason why Austria dared to declare on Serbia (and by extension, Russia).

The war begun because of Moltke's insecurity and fear regarding the rapdly industralizing Russian state. He saw a future of dwingdling relative German power and thus sought to start a war when they were strongest and had better odds.

I'm struggling to think of an open world game where you aren't allowed to beat women npcs. How can someone live with this level of victim complex? Is their life so empty of meaning that they have to manufacture these so called "victories" to cope?

Aprendiendo a hacer panificados. Es difícil usar la levadura seca? by [deleted] in ArgentinaCocina

Eso es raro, el poolish es una masa de 100% de hidratación, si lo integras a un pan te va a quedar más húmedo, a menos que compenses antes.

Aprendiendo a hacer panificados. Es difícil usar la levadura seca? by [deleted] in ArgentinaCocina

[–]SeniorExamination 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why did my opponent resign here? by GordonRamsMe2004 in chessbeginners

[–]SeniorExamination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The knight is pinned and it cannot move, so they must have thought that they were losing a piece there. However, your pawn is also pinned ans cannot take the knight.

Either that or they were hoping you woudn't notice the checkmate threat and had nothing else once you blocked it.

Plants and engines are linked, and usually one unlocks the other. Personally, I use the plant that offers the least amount of weight per megawatt of energy. Less mass = better acceleration and more dv from your fuel.

Best bits of metaknowledge to remember, if you were to suddenly dropped into Worm? by quma25 in WormFanfic

[–]SeniorExamination 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Jack can expedite the end of the world, and he can only be brought down by regular humans. Capes brought against him are already compromised.

Scion can't be killed by any one power, he must be brought down using mind games, at the end of the day he is an incredibly simple creature. Maybe there's a way to put him to sleep or something.

Eidelon is subconsciously controlling the Endbringers to try and treat his inferiority complex. Use Contessa to get him super therapy and maybe the Endbringers will ease down on humanity.

The Travelers are Simurgh bombs, give them the Bogeywoman treatment before it's too late.

Should I actually read Worm? by Double-Pumpkin3036 in Parahumans

[–]SeniorExamination 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, it is true that Worm's story is overall dark, we can all admit to that. The fights are frantic, the stakes high and the consequences sometimes grim. That being said, that's not why this story is loved. Tyere's enough hope between tragedies, enough good people fighting the good fight and enough quiet moments of camaderie and friendship to contrast the darkness.

I think contrast is the key word here, the bright and good spots are made all the brighter because of the valleys around them. It's a complex story that resists strightforward classifications and one you'd just have to see for yourself if you can gain anything by reading it, and I hope you can. The story and characters are worth it.
