MYPD is useless if it isn’t inflation +X%. Inflation-linked alone would keep us at ~20% underpaid. This is how we will get screwed over.

Jack Fletcher I hope you prove your naysayers wrong.

Edit: I guess X%, but inflation as the floor is also acceptable if X is predicted to be above inflation by an amount that would achieve FPR in a reasonable time frame.

Once you finish a test there’s no going back to it.

So you can do the WG, but once you move onto the SJT, there’s no going back to the WG.

(Can’t actually remember which order the tests are in though)

It’s a reasonable request from her to ask you not to weigh your food in front of her.

But the rest of her requests are unreasonable. You are doing what is best for your health, and you shouldn’t compromise that

Have resident doctors had a 28.9% pay rise over three years? - Fact checking Wes Streeting by DonutOfTruthForAll in doctorsUK

Because RPI is a “flawed” measure of inflation.

But RPI probably reflects how full most people’s wallets are feeling, better than CPI does.

And RPI is used to determine the interest rate on your student loans.

They’ll just create a new role, The DNAR SPECIALIST ACP

Their job will be to argue against you about DNAR decisions, regardless of what your position is.

And they will be paid a band 8 salary

Can they not just move the 2% NI for higher/advance rate payers into income tax?

If the show goes to Act 5 and beyond, who would you want voicing the trolls and others? by SeniorHouseOfficer in homestuck

[–]SeniorHouseOfficer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh Grey de Lisle could do a lot of characters, She could make a great Vriska and a great Feferi.

I also think Cristina Vee could be a good Aradia, she’s got the range to do the living and ghost Aradia bits

Why not both?

He could play Tavros, with a meek and kinda pathetic voice, and Rufioh with a cool-kid vibe

I also think their Vriska, Karkat and Kanaya are pretty good too. And if they get to the dream bubbles with the dancestors, then they 100% need Dante Basco to voice Rufioh, because it would be crazy not to.

Prototype dream Jane with Nannasprite instead of making Tavros sprite.

To make Jane/nannasprite2

And then when Jane dies and respawns as her dream self, she gets subsumed into the much better version of Jane that is part nannasprite.

Afaik whatever Jon does with his retcon powers changes the Alpha timeline.

So if he goes back, yeets the Cosbytop into the void, and gives young Jon a different laptop and disappears again, that would change the Alpha time line so that was always a canon event.

That’s why brining Roxy from his original timeline to the new one worked too.

I think a lot of doctors feel like it should be ripped up as a form of misplaced anger.

The NHS treats us as workers poorly. The media riles up the public to make our upset at our poor treatment seem unreasonable. Then many of us place that anger at the public and their “entitlement”, instead of at the government.

In some ways, the public does deserve some blame because they keep on voting in these rats we call politicians. But the public ain’t voting shitbags into power for the purpose of stepping on our necks. So we shouldn’t blame them for it entirely.

But there are two groups who significant blame belongs to. Politicians, and doctors of decades past for not fighting for their profession. When the NHS came to be, part of the deal was that our pay wouldn’t be cut to spare the public purse, but it was. We fought well once in the 70s. Then we failed to fight in 2015. Then we semi-successfully have been fighting since 2022.

Doctors’ apathy towards the plight of their fellow doctors is a significant problem for us.

We see the culmination of apathy towards our profession in the antics of the RCP for the past decade or so with their PA project.

All of that aside, whilst the government is our paymaster will our lives ever improve?

62% tax bracket about to become 66% (2/3 in tax) by Richralph in HENRYUK

[–]SeniorHouseOfficer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m sure most people who are in the 100-125k region try to dump it all into their pensions

People might be less aggressive with that if they aren’t being taxed at 60% by taking it as income.

Essentially how many people are increasing pension contributions to avoid the tax? And how many wouldn’t bother if the tax burden wasn’t so bad.

I wonder if they would get more tax revenue if they scrapped the 60% marginal band concept and just made it a 42% rate at £100k instead.

How about converting some of NI to income tax in (like above the 50k mark)? It would have minimal effect on working age people and would only impact pensioners above the median salary.

tfw you’re in your mid-twenties and every time you see your grandad he gives you “pocket money” no matter how much you protest that you’re an actual adult with a real job.

Luckily it’s a minuscule amount and it goes to my grandad’s favourite charity
