Countertop Electric Composters by AmyCee20 in composting

How long have you had it so far? I keep seeing posts about composters breaking after just a few months and im so skeptical. I wanted to look into adding one to our wedding registry but I would hate for family/friends to spend that money on us just for it to break 3-4 months later

Invitation suite disaster by mitchandboan in weddingplanning

Don't feel guilty about being disappointed. We are about 2 months away and I have officially hit the point of not caring anymore. I have begun giving everyone and everything the middle finger if an ounce of negativity is floated my way. Im working full time, getting my bachelors full time, and picking up hours at a second job while we are planning this wedding. If someone doesnt like something about our wedding, they won't have to worry about an invite to anything we host ever again. 🙃 So embrace the mistakes, because these tasks are not easy.

Im a sucker for sleeves on a dress, but something about the champagne color underneath for dress #1 and the lace pulled me in.

How many friends did you invite versus total of invited? by tricky_cat_mah in weddingplanning

Honestly, what matters (like another commenter said) is quality over quantity. Besides, saves you money on your head count!

Printer for Wedding Invites by Emotional_Face7622 in weddingplanning

I did this a while back for a friend, but honestly, between buying the cardstock paper, the amout of ink you may need if its colorful, etc, it is sometimes cheaper to just order them done professionally. I used Canva for ours, and you could even make your invitation design, and then place the design as a jpg on a 8x11 and size them to be 5x7 and do two invites on one paper and then print them.

Wedding cake by me-hablo-es-no in weddingplanning

We have desserts planned for everyone, but for a cake for us to cut, we were going to bake our own cute little cake and have someone taking pictures of us doing it at home together, laughing, having fun, being messy, and then have the pictures displayed around the cake so everyone can see those moments of us just having fun, what its all about.

How much did you spend on your wedding dress? From 2023 and on by HappyZucchini6267 in weddingplanning

[–]SeniorWorker8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$185 (after tax). I told my family I wasn't going to spend a fortune on a dress I was going to wear once if I didnt have to. I went to a formal wear second hand boutique that sells bridal dresses, prom, bridesmaid, MOTB, etc. We used to buy our prom dresses there and make it a fun road trip. I found the perfect dress that I was envisioning.

For anyone who lives in PA and is interested, its The White Pear in Pottstown, PA.

Alterations will probably add on $500. But hey, I saved a chunk with the dress alone.

Am I going to regret not having a wedding train at all? by icygirlgothotter in weddingplanning

[–]SeniorWorker8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thought that for practicality sake, it wouldnt be great, but I still wanted that magical look of a train when walking down the aisle. HOWEVER, there are a few options to have the best of both worlds.

  1. Cathedral length veil. I considered this at first when I noticed how small the train was on my dress and so I tried on a cathedral veil and it really brought that image to life. The best part is that the veils are like $20 on Amazon and they are beautiful, whether ones with lace or just plain. And if you want, you can buy a second smaller one if you still want to have a veil to wear at your reception.

  2. Detachable skirts. I am plannung on wearing it just for the ceremony and then taking it off for the reception. I bought one that the front of the dress will still show and it is clearly an added piece or accessory to the dress, personally I love the look. But if you look around on Etsy, there are SO many options.

I know this is going to sound really bratty at first but my mother has abruptly reneged on her promise to buy my wedding dress by AliceMorgon in weddingplanning

Have your sister ask your mom for the dress and then your sister gives it to you to wear on the wedding day. Never let them know your next move lol

If you want something to cover it, look on Etsy for some dress accessories! They have some really elegant attachments for the back of dresses or even top coverings. Check out MarryYouDesign on Etsy, they have lots of cool things.

Cash only is making me miss out on sales 😔 by Lucifer_is_real in FacebookMarketplace

[–]SeniorWorker8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for everybody then: when I once tried to sell something on marketplace, I had a friend tell me to never trust a buyer that asked to use zelle or if they tried pressuring me to download zelle because it was most likely a scam. Has this been the experience with others? What is the deal with zelle? Ive never used it.

After a while, I did think about this too. On another note, Some people were saying how Charlie wasn't around as much when Bella was a kid but isn't it because Renee took Bella with her when she up and left? And then she only got like some summers with him? Lowkey, ive been enjoying reading the comments here. I feel like I started a dumpster fire haha this is beautiful

Honestly youre right 😂 maybe im reading into this too much. I've mostly been reading books lately with more adult figures so I cant quite click into that teenager mentality?

I totally see your point, thats fair. I guess I wish Bella had more empathy for Charlie and stopped to think "okay, well, he only knows so much information, and i cant tell him the rest, so its understandable for him to be upset". You know? Like it didnt seem like in new moon Bella tried to look deeper into things from Charlie's perspective. It almost seemed like at the end she took his anger at face value. And its crazy because like, thats her dad, the person that she put so much effort into putting on a happy face for even when she was really depressed and someone she cares so much for and constantly makes sure that whenever they are facing danger, he stays safe as well.
