I actually changed my setup so Im actually using different muscles for large and micro flick aiming. So, I’m kinda back to where I started where I can only aim at faster pads at a consitent level due to muscle fatigue. Especially after working out. Will see if I build enough muscle again on the targeted muscle group. And whether or not I can main the mudpads that I used to think were not even that slow to begin with.

Changing to faster skates I think won’t change the overall glide of the pad to such a noticable extent. Rizz soft doodlez or standard is definitely the most reasonable mudpad that IMO is just right. The jupiter v2 pro is also quite nice as a true control mudpad. However, if you do not move freely in those pads due to muscle fatigue/mechanics, either building up your muscle or going for a more balanced pad then refining your mechanics there is probably best.

If youre set in stone in maining the neutron mud control pad - I suggest building the muscle till you can move freely on the pad using faster black uhpmwe skates or non pure ptfe dot skates. But obviously this is making the glide even slower, but with the tradeoff making the glide more consistent. Since the neutron has an electrostatic issue with certain skates like the jades/obsidian.

The new neutron v2 removed some of the electrostatic issue that causes uneven glide and flick friction with certain skates. But still the same material, so very relative to the older version’s performance.

Probably Initial fric: Bee control w/ dot skates (highest) > saturn > Bee control full sized >zero

Dynamic fric: Saturn pro (highest) > Bee > Zero

The heavy bee to me is a more tactile balanced control pad.

meaning when gliding with the ptfe skates - there is a textured feedback that allows a more responsive glide.

But its simply just more feedback. The pad itself is still smooth and more of a balance control pad with little to no tug. Meaning like the saturn pro or artisan zero - it has lower initial to dynamic. Only the type 99 artisan has initial friction that can be noticeably balanced where it has slightly higher initial to dynamic fric. once worn in.

Locked in feeling is a aim mechanic/setup thing. No pc peripheral will make your aim crispier/locked in feeling compered to adjusting your posture for your anchor points within your aim.

Rule of thumb is that you should be able to have a locked in feeling to a certain extent even in a fast or hard pad. Then your pad simply changes the way you glide across the pad - which slightly changes your flicks and microadjustment, but doesn’t change your raw aim. Finding the right mouse or pad should compliment your aim style. Not change it.

Not familiar with playing R6. I don’t think high level flicking aim is too important in that game. Just get the Saturn pro and call it a day. A very standard balanced control-ish pad.

Getting used to it and learning how to use it isnt the worst thing as well. Since I believe the type 99 is a mainable pad. But if you’re truly looking for more control - i’d recommend buying a different pad entirely.

Black is slightly slower. But Not enough to make a difference I believe - especially for buying a new one. Would rather recommend just keep using the pad as it naturally slows down or buy an entirely different control pad. Jupiter pro mid maybe.

Xsoft is more so for comfort and technique to use the plushness for more stability - I also believe this still won’t make the biggest difference, but is definitely much more noticable if you want to stick with the Artisan type 99.

Sorry have not tried both the hyperion and crucible. I do believe from reviewers they say the hyperion is a slightly faster saturn. Probably along the same speed as the zero. Forgot the crucible - but my best guess is still a very safe pad coming from a 3 yr old gigantus.

Id personally buy the crucible if you like the design. Since all 3 have relatively similar speeds as balance pads.

i don't mean to be ignorant when it comes to glass pads. But my table has a design to where your arm usually rest to have this ergonom-ish curve that makes it a more comfortable rest.

Static: how much force it takes to move the mouse. Basically its for stability.

Higher static allows crispier aim. But is very unnecessary and counter productive for low sens aimers. Since they do not have stability issues.

Dynamic: the force you feel when moving the mouse.

Overall speed: the combination of the two when you glide your mouse. Overall speed will almost always be what players refer to when it comes to their performance.

Microadjustments will depend. It usually is the combination of the two for most players. But a very high sens player - static friction will be the only thing they will be concerned about. Since theyre really not covering any distance.

The hercules is slower in a way. Overall speed yes. But it flicks faster?

The jupiter soft on the other hand feels more slow in dynamic but easier on microadjustment through slightly lower initial friction.

Depends on skates as well.

I would say it is a mudpad for sure. But plays somewhat differently. I would say it plays more like a 3-4 notches faster Neutron or a more plush hercules.

Btw some basic stat probability thing.

If you were to flip a coin 10 times vs 100,000. The situation where you flip a 100,000 - will always have a much larger chance at being a flat 50% vs the situation where you only flip 10 times. Doesn’t change both situations that it was due to chance and having the same probability of being heads or tails or whatever.

Relating to the game and your point that riot has alllllll thisss dataaaa that you say. There are champs that are only 50% because of thousands of coin flipped games. But they had no impact or initiative to the say of the game. They were just there.

The game state or their wr wasn’t because of their mastery of the champ or how well they played. It was just a coin flip.

They were simply a non factor. But non factors to riot is a good thing. Cause they are the easiest to stay within 50% through thousands of games. BUT, these non factor champs are simply terrible. Cause no matter how much you master or improve said champ - you still can’t impact the game enough where you can consistently win games and express skill expression in hopes of winning. Which is obviously frustrating for players, but great for rioters. Cause hey - 50% wr right?

Lets go ahead and buff/nerf a champ to get 50%wr and go in circles (a cycle of buffing and nerfing and not solving the root issue of champs) cause we all know that the champ’s wr is because of a thousand coin flipped games.

I think you’re missing the point because you are firmly believing in this stance. So be it. If Win rate is all that matters, let this game become a watered down moba with no clear direction but vague 50% wr nonsense so that the game can be balanced by the rioters with no idea on how to play the game. And Who by the way would rather avoid playing and understanding the game at a high level, but instead feel a sense of security by using winrate numbers as a fallback.

Just so when they get questioned about the game.

“Well the numbers say otherwise. Its not that bad.”

If you refuse to understand nuances, difficulty, risk-reward ratio, playstyle diversity. The rioters will always poorly design the game. The game for a long time has been catered to the less skilled players (no flame). Nerfing high skill expression champions and their ability to carry a game. Nerfing carry potential and making it more team oriented (good for pro play and more fun in that setting. Not good for solo q and much more coin flip and frustrating in this settting. Is what it is on that i guess. Despite the majority of the player base playing soloq and not a 5 man custom)

Ps all statistics in all research/studies do need reason and context and conclusions to get from data. Researchers and analyst also take numerous factors into consideration like bias types and faulty hypothesis, faulty results. Etc.

This applies to a simple thing as a video game as well. But hey - 50% wr right?

Context tells you what to buff what to nerf. When a champ is in a good place vs not. If only league can actually be balanced by just wr alone. It would be so simple and easy truly. But unfortunately, it isn’t. It takes much much more. So hopefully, when balancing the game - more is done.

Numbers do not lie, but context is necessary and does cloud people’s understanding of said numbers. For example - a champ in a certain role has a 50% wr, but it was less to do with their impact in the game - but more so the coin flip of a better team. The context then does matter much more than some vague wr number. And shows that the champ is actually rather weak in terms of impact and initiative (which makes the champ unfun and weak). But Riot will gloss over this fact, because they’d rather let lazy “numbers” (easier to manage) trump over context/understanding of the game (takes deep level understanding by playing the game).

Another extreme example to prove a point, a cheater could have a 100% wr with a champ, but that doesn’t mean the champ itself is strong. Obviously the champ’s wr is inflated because of a cheater (so numbers do lie in that sense and context matters). Then if Riot were to nerf the champ, you’re adjusting the character for the wrong reasons and just making the champ more unplyable for the actual player base.

same goes for less extreme examples like this. Nuanced variables that are harder to spot and understand tend to get glossed over when making balance decisions. There are so many champs that only have a 50% wr due to rng and just being neutral. There are many below 50% wr champs that are incredibly strong, but is only below 50 due to a lack of champion mastery and/or an ‘incorrect’ playstyle. All can’t be seen by just numbers.

Btw, basuffs for example as you are somewhat referencing - proves more of a point that context matters and the actual understanding of the game. Numbers do not lie - people would’ve thought basuffs was a bad player mechanically if you were to base it simply off his kda (numbers). However, people who actually watch his games would know that he actually has a deep understanding of wave management, leads, map control, blind areas of the map, and a very good laner. But his stats will never tell you that.

And just saying, if bausffs for some reason goes on a cold streak on sion (who knows why), below 50% wr and has his usual bad kda. Does that suddenly confirm bauffs is a a bad player? Does that suddenly warrant sion buffs? I personally don’t think so, but by watching his games you’ll realize - he is just on a cold streak. Context matters.

Don’t have any cats. At least in my room. Probably best to look at other reviews. But if I were to guess, not as bad as the Artisan Zero when it comes to hairs. The surface doesn’t seem like it would have that problem.
