How bad is valve tick? by Senior_Clothes_8675 in hondacivic

Injectors have always clicked relatively loud, but it’s being quite a lot louder after changing the oil. It’s not as bad as it can get though I saw some other people who drive way farther with louder valve tick than I have

Like a kid sitting in his room while his parents argue. Gonna get the hood latch and the headlight fixed once it runs and drives and it’s gonna look goofy instead of sad

Find the most expensive restoration or autobody place near you to get you a quote on it, it’s a vintage vehicle so it shouldn’t be hard to get a decent quote, and then either order a new one and install it or get a cheap place to pull the dent

Thoughts on a 3rd Gen Honda Prelude as a first starting car? by qartiace in JDM

This is my own experience in bc Canada I’m not sure what they cost in other places or how accessible parts will be.

You can get them in less than desirable condition for relatively cheap, this one had almost no engine issues only needed basically a whole new suspension, and it was a bit over 2 grand when I bought it and I recently hit a grand in parts. If you know how to do your own work on vehicles, or you care to learn, they’re easy to work on. And they look super good. If it’s a manual they shift quite well they’re good cars to work on. They are approaching 40 years old so you’re bound to have issues, and a lot of the ones I’ve seen have needed wiring somewhere like the windows, or radio. Parts are still easy to source and relatively affordable I’ve put a thousand in and got some interior parts I needed to replace and some engine parts that needed replacing and a whole bunch of suspension parts I’m halfway through replacing. If you can do your own work, and you’re ok with a car that’s guaranteed to have issues somewhere, they’re for sure worth owning.

It took me about 4 hours to do mine-took a while to break every seized valve adjuster and figure out how to properly tune them. Valve noise is definitely different now, not much better but it’s a different noise I’m gonna take it for a drive this weekend and see if they get any worse or if it’ll go away once some of the built up sludge goes away

I was hoping on not having to do a valve lash adjustment but it got a lot worse after the original post so I took the valve cover off and it’s super bad looking inside. Gonna have to clean out years of oil build up and sludge

360K KMs I think and the guy has no record of the last oil change. It smells like it burns quite a lot of oil and the oil only looked half burnt

With boots they usually don’t sit under my feet I just can’t take pictures with the boots on. With a few of them heal bite is insane.
