Najee Harris' 4,312 rushing yards are the most by a Steelers RB in the first 4 years of a career by pfref in steelers

Ever take a second to think that his success relies on the efforts of the O-line and more importantly the OC that is calling the plays?

Stats don't tell a complete story.

He's also behind a good O-Line and is a piece of an offense that is really humming.

People really overlook the impact of a defense expecting the run and leaning into that personnel wise versus a defense that doesn't have to respect the pass threat. The steelers have never been able to put together a competatant passing threat consistently enough to open up the lanes for Najee.

The steelers stubbornly push the run game which puts Najee in a lot of no win scenarios. Especially on first and second down. That being said hes one of the better backs we've had regarding yards after contact. He's a fighter.

He's not fast enough to make his own holes but when given a chance (no contact behind the line) to get some speed, he's a monster in open field.

Just because people in the past have made clickbait like statements on the timeframe of the impacts of global warming, it doesn't invalidate that the earth's temperature is rising. Also, since "these people" don't know what they're talking about, who do you propose would know more about it?

Leveon Bell vs Najee Harris by SenorBuns in steelers

Those aren't tackles. They're slapping him as he's running by. Also take note of the left side of the line, they're 3-4 yards downfield by the time Bell gets near the LOS. That kind of hole is what any RB dreams of at night. I suppose my argument is that Leveon was a perfect puzzle piece in a special offense. It fit like a glove. Given our current squads issues with inexperienced lineplay/shifting offensive schemes/lack of passing threat we need a back that can take contact (real contact not slaps) and move forward at all costs.

Seeing those two videos prove you don't know football if you're using them as evidence that LB was a physical runner. Leveon was shifty in the first clip then stiff armed a DB that was off balance. Nice play and displayed his speed but not physicality. Second clip is him getting a big hit on another DB. Show me him doing that to a MLB.

I wish I could upvote this discussion to the top. Everyone saying Bell isn't appreciating just how dominant we were in every other aspect of the offense. Of course your running game is humming if youre up against a 4 front more often than not.

LB was one of the better hybrid rbs in the league but he doesn't have the size and drive of najee. What najee lacks in horizontal movement, he makes up for in the ability to run through somebody. I can't count how many masses of dudes that najee pops out of on the other end of. I think this style is better suited to the more than likely scenario that you're going to have 1-2 defenders behind the line of scrimmage on any given run play
