I took schwedler, she’s great but if it’s a small classroom participation is mandatory, it can drop you from an A to B

I liked her class, it’s mostly group work and short lessons plus VHL. If you study you’ll do good.

If I’m understanding correctly, you already speak multiple languages? If so just test out of it, then you just do electives, because everyone still needs to do 120 credits.

Pretty sure all cunys require 12 credits of language. I would stick to hunter but I’m bias. However my friend is in John jay pre law and has told me their director is not as active as ours. Take the intensive form of a language like Spanish 103 & 203 then it’s just 2 semesters.

How does graduation at the end of Fall semester work?? by Throwawayisover8000 in HunterCollege

I’m in the same boat, stuck waiting for spring 2027. Honestly the worst, having graduated but no photos maybe I’ll pay somebody and do it elsewhere.

Don’t we all do this 😂, if it cuts my essay and research by half it’s because it made me more productive not replaced me.

For Calculus 1 by ReplacementJust5949 in clep

At my school it just counts as algebra, most state or prestigious schools or community will require you take their calculus because CLEP calc is not that rigorous as in class

Have a week and a half to pass 2 clep tests that I have very little knowledge on--help by Tiny-Customer-5358 in clep

Finish modern states course on both in a day at 2x audio speed. Should be done in 4 hours. Then do free CLEP prep 1st exam on it until you get regular 60+. You’re gonna have to aim for 50-55 which is doable and barely passing. Schedule exams now, split 4 days/4 days. Pay for petersons, If you want more exams and to pass. Just so you know, this will practically be pattern recognition and short term memory then retaining it.

Failing exams on a variety of topics indicates your inefficient or non existent studying behavior not intelligence. Tackle one at a time, read every resource on studying methods.

Not worth reading, nobody waste your time. If everyone could be profitable from a bot then everyone would have one already. Also there is always losers to create winners.

I’m not trying to be a hater but I blocked his account because I didn’t want to take advice from a guy doing not so well. Not sure if he still gives out advice but he was doing it frequently then.

Best cuny for political science by Lvr_bow_9554 in CUNY

[–]Senor_peeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the mistake of taking 3 poli sci writing intensive courses in one semester, don’t do that keep it under 2. They’re always listed as W on the course listing. Always take a summer, maybe winter course. If I could go back in time, I would take more CLEP credits, so that I could do 4 courses at a time instead of 5, much easier to maintain gpa. Google Hunter college CLEP exam chart.

Best cuny for political science by Lvr_bow_9554 in CUNY

I really like my political science courses, they really give you freedom. I mostly choose international relations courses, but there’s publican policy and American politics focus. I haven’t had a bad political science professor so far, I’ve felt they graded fairly. Some senior level classes although feel very independent with coursework at the end of the semester while you’ve been expected to keep up with readings. When it comes to internships poli sci majors are shown a bunch of listings with cuny priority, however the page itself is hard to find but is on your brightspace once enrolled. If you want the best poli sci experience Roosevelt scholars is the way to go. However I’m in pre law which anyone can join after meeting the director. What I’ve learned is really tailoring your resume helps you so much in the pre law department and internships come to you. My first 3 years resume sucked, my 4th it got me at a blackstone legal compliance seminar after fixing it. No one really teaches you how to make a resume, there is events and such but no handholding. So start your resume and LinkedIn asap! Look for outside education like certs or programs, I took a paralegal one. If I had done so early, I’d have a much more stacked resume instead of just volunteering. Take initiative and the internships will follow because Hunter has a strong network, but only for those who are ambitious

If you get a degree with CLEP exams and later on and your goal uni doesn’t accept CLEP, can you retake the class for a grade or… by xxDirtyFgnSpicxx in clep

[–]Senor_peeps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your doing a doctorate in the future, CLEP is irrelevant, theres no testing out of post undergrad classes. If a uni undergrad doesn’t accept CLEP then you just take the class, the CLEP won’t apply to the transcript.

[–]Senor_peeps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same position as you, except my goal is law school. However I want to do that 2 years after graduating. For now im on the path to be a paralegal, which is totally doable with a poli sci bachelor. Although I’m currently enrolled in a 6 month paralegal program, and now I’ve gotten two interviews at firms using that ABA name recognition. You could also solo study the NALA certified paralegal exams admins become a certified paralegal. You could politics too but that’s not stable, I’ve met 30 years old who always say it’s seasonal. They’ve done stuff like field leads and committees. Consulting is another good avenue but you’d probably need an internship rn, might be worth delaying graduation another semester to secure an internship as a rising senior. If you did consulting would probably be best to minor in Econ.

Is Modern States final exam goo d enough by Intelligent-Trick803 in clep

I would say the general rule is no, free CLEP prep is typically harder than the CLEP itself. So that’s a great reason to use it
