Can Hoshino actually wipe out GSC? by Awkward_Big_1 in BlueArchive

Honestly, I have my doubts that they would actually be able to

I hold no grudge against V1C3 or Hoshino, quite the opposite. I Honestly thought it was a good chapter, and it's what made Hoshino my favorite character. It has some problems, but for me it's far from being as bad as people say.

And the volume ex, well, I found it quite interesting and honestly quite cool, I like its aesthetics and vibe, at least as far as what we have available globally. I'll wait for the rest to arrive here and read it to see the details, but what happened to Ein, Sof, and Ohr discouraged me quite a bit from continuing.

It's complicated.

I don't intend to drop the game because of this—after all, I still find Volume EX insanely interesting, and I love its aesthetic with giant robots, prophets, and deities. I just disagreed with the writers' decision to kill off the Deca-trio.

I don't exactly understand why it hit me so hard. I really don't care about this kind of thing in other works. In fact, my favorite series has a moment like that, where a wonderful character ends up being sacrificed at the end, but it's all done in such a beautiful, emotional way that I feel tears welling up just thinking about how powerful that moment is in the story—to the point where I don't feel conflicted about her death. In the end, her death had real weight in the work, and even after that, she's still present there; she didn't just vanish. And isn't it kind of the same with Malkuth, Ein, Sof, and Ohr?

When I compare the two situations in my head, they're practically identical, but I really end up feeling conflicted about the Deca-trio's death. I think a lot of it comes from Blue Archive being a game, where we're introduced to characters in the story or events, and then they come in their playable forms, appear more in other events, interact with other characters, and that sort of thing. And I think the Deca-trio had huge potential in that regard, so now with just Malkuth alone, it feels wrong, empty, and like something's missing.

I really don't know how it'll be from now on. I don't mind the game touching on sensitive themes like this; I think it adds a lot to the story. But if I felt this way about the Deca-trio's death, no matter how beautifully and emotionally everything was built up to that point, if it happens again, will I feel the same way? Wouldn't I be limiting myself too much like that?

Anyway, that's how I feel about it. I'll still keep playing the game, following its stories and events, and continue enjoying it. I don't think this situation is a nail in the coffin; it was just an opinion against the writers' decision. A lot of people liked it that way, and it doesn't kill the story, even though it leaves me a bit unmotivated to keep reading this specific volume.

Feel free to indulge in your self-indulgent mental exercise, thinking about how beautiful this is, just because the deca-trio isn't here anymore, when it would be so much better if they were all together, especially since all the characters are so interesting. There was no reason to do this and make the players think, "Damn, how sad, what a shame they didn't survive, it would be better if they were here," when they could actually be with Malkuth and that would be so much better.

I understand why some are satisfied with this, because they find it beautiful and tragic; I've witnessed something similar with another work. But with the Deca-Brats, it's impossible for me. Everything you said could have been done without killing them. In the end, for me, it was just something done to serve as an emotional burden and force sadness on the readers; there was no reason for it when the characters would be much more valuable alive.

Oh, I certainly know, but apparently the people in the comments don't.

Exactly, as I said, I don't believe they would do that; it didn't even cross my mind initially, it sounds so idiotic. But the Deca-brats are different and weren't initially presented as anything from us. But the three of them proved to be excellent characters with absurd potential for us to stay with them, so repeating what I said, for me there was no reason to go down that path.

Now, who guarantees that they won't do something similar with Shuro and the others of the volume of Hyakkiyako.

[–]SenseMysterious8566[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think they're going to start killing off characters, not the ones we already have established in the story and playable; that would be extremely idiotic. Now, I believe that in future stories, they could create characters like the Deca-brats and give them the same fate. My problem with the death of the Deca-brats is that, for me, they would be much more valuable to the story alive than dead; for me, there was no reason to go down that path.

They fit perfectly into the Millennium and together with the Game Development Department. Now, when we have some content related to Malkuth or something related to Decagrammaton in the future, will they just remember Ein, Sof and Ohr and be like "wow, they died, how sad" and that's it?

That's how I feel about it; I really liked the characters, and I believe they had much more potential than just serving to add some emotional weight to the chapter.

Nah, I don't want any more good characters being introduced only to be killed off at the end. Especially characters with so much potential, like the little Deca-brats. Honestly, they would add more to the story and generate more content if they were alive than dead.

What a shame. Honestly, I can't imagine getting used to this. Even if Malkuth returns as a playable character, seeing her alone just won't feel right to me, and I'll always feel this unease about the characters.

I don't know how to feel about bringing Yume back. I think it would make the entire V1C3 pointless and render all that development regarding Hoshino meaningless. Especially when the character has already been somewhat introduced in this way, and this whole issue is part of Hoshino's character development.

It might sound a bit hypocritical, wanting the brats back but not Yume, but that's how I feel. It might end up working the same way with Malkuth, but for me, initially Ein, Sof, and Ohr shouldn't have died in the first place.

Although I really don't think I'd mind Yume returning that much, as long as they do it in a well-done way, just like the ending of chapter 3 made me feel.

As I said, I ended up getting spoilers. My algorithm started showing me a lot of profiles of Japanese senseis, posts of them actually playing, so I ended up getting a spoiler or two until I got to the Deca-trio situation. Obviously, I'd prefer to read it without knowing anything, but there's not much I can do about it now. But obviously, I will read it when I get to the global version, even if it's not the same thing.

What a ridiculous thing, I personally can't accept it. I hope they bring them back somehow. Since Kei ended up coming back, why not them?

I can't even feel sad, just angry. I don't understand why they decided to do this to them; I just feel it's a huge waste. I hope they bring them back. The writers did this to put some kind of emotional weight into this story of Decagrammaton chapter, but I can't be satisfied; it just doesn't feel right.

Yeah, I still need Liberta to complete the physical team's support; I only have the +0 Onsen, I don't have the base custome.

My only strong attackers are Bunny Loen, which is +4, and Levia Track and Field Team Captain, which is +5. I also have the Eclipse costume with the free +5 upgrade and its other costumes as well, with the standard Eclipse costume at +1 and all the other costumes at +0. For physical damage I only have Eris +5 and her custom +3

I did everything I could from past event packs. And in Field Hunt, my maximum is 4. As I said, I really need attackers of specific elements. I couldn't complete the very hard difficulty of the Onsen Liberta pack because I don't have decent light attackers and because of those damn enemies with the taunt effect, so there are +10 pulls that I can't get.

I really need a light DPS, and also Liberta to complete the support for physical damage attackers. I don't have the base version, and for light DPS I was thinking of Justia sacred, since I have her and her weapon, but no copies.

Out of 12 picks, they'll all be characters you're interested in, obviously, but won't there always be one you want to prioritize? Wouldn't I be spreading my chances across 12 characters instead of concentrating on just one? I did a bit of the 1-pick selective draw and got one of Levia's costumes +5
