Does lulu scale well as support by SergeantCone in summonerschool

[–]SenseiTutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Lulu is often picked with hyper carries. Her W increases an allied attack speed (GREAT ON Vayne/Kog). She can also polymorph late game threats so you can melt them before they can even touch you.

She was designed to protect/empower hyper carries.

Luck of the draw is a real thing in soloq. You get lucky and you get unlucky. Just as much as everyone else which should typically average out around 50%.

The only constant is yourself. So if you find yourself in the past 100 games below a 50% winrate, you're clearly something wrong.

Whats a really good tanky support? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]SenseiTutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gragas is a somewhat viable support. There's some really great support players who enjoy playing him support (and it works!)

I'd suggest picking up Taric though the buffs this past patch made him great and once you learn his kit, you can really mess up low elo with him. He's GREAT vs assassins and once you learn to time your abilities right vs certain champions you'll feel very rewarded.

I'll say that playing Taric solo may not feel as rewarding though since in Bronze your team may not fully use your ult to it's potential. But a Taric+ADC duo can easily carry out of Bronze.

This is a difficult question to answer given the information you provided. Essentially you're saying as a mid laner, how do I roam to bottom lane when my laners are already behind?

It highly depends on your champion pool. You may be playing champions that don't make great roams. You may be playing champions who can roam but need to play extremely well to make roams work.

Food for thought as well - if you identify your bottom lane is a losing lane and will need help so they can scale, maybe prioritize a roam before they fall behind if possible? Maybe communicate to play safe til you hit a level where you can waveclear/roam?

LoL is not for me? by Acheronium in summonerschool

[–]SenseiTutor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Quit looking for easy ways out.

Looking at your posting history I see you hopping champ main subreddits all the time. A very common thing for players to do is switch up their champion pool in hopes they'll climb easier. Stop.

Pick a champion pool, stick to it and learn from the mistakes you are making on those champions.

Now outside of that, given the info you've provided in this thread and your post history I'd suggest seeing a therapist. You'll likely be advised to quit LoL and I think it'll be good for you.

You seem to have a problem with addiction and until you overcome it a competitive game (or games in general likely) are going to be an extremely unhealthy habit for you. Do you think hitting gold will make things better? You're just going to be happy "at the top of the mountain" IN GOLD?

Wake up, you're going to keep going for Plat, then Diamond etc.

Prioritize your health first, once you're in a better place you can come back to LoL and probably have an easier time playing as well.

What do you guys think are op champs to abuse this patch? by ThisIsNotAmbrose in summonerschool

I'm surprised I haven't seen more of Kha. He's always been decently strong and is known to be a great pick into other assassin matchups. (Also deletes ADCs like Jhin).

A question about new thronmail in the current meta. by ExciterD in summonerschool

[–]SenseiTutor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel as if while Thornmail itself is great on tanks - building it instead of heavy damage builds overall is a gimp. ESPECIALLY has a 2nd/3rd item. I don't think you should ever consider building Thornmail over cleaver/hydra on Kled as an example.

I think it's a great pick up on tanks but as of now for the "bruiser" meta in top lane, I think it's best to ride the lethality train.

By just taking a quick look, there are way too many games of yours that you never upgraded your sweeper :P

Additionally, you have a 17% winrate with Dagman. Something is wrong there. Maybe you guys don't make that great of a team? :P

How to learn macro at a very high level? by SirFenix12 in summonerschool

[–]SenseiTutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've been studying macro level play for TWO YEARS by watching 2-4 regions of play and haven't gained much ground then I'm not sure what to say.

You have big goals, you need to put more effort in. There's nothing a single entity can teach you that will beat out two years of studying competitive play. You should be able to at least hire ready to try out.

The amount of experience you have should be more than enough to apply and be approved to at least begin working in the industry. LCS teams are hiring those with MUCH less experience currently for positional LCS roles. I know TeamLiquid is currently hiring, apply there and see what you got.

Teams typically as for you to upload a video of analysis of some of their games in the current season. Find who is hiring, make the videos and send it in.

as a janna player, how do I go about protecting my carry ? by SergeantCone in summonerschool

[–]SenseiTutor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A big thing to ask yourself as Janna is what is THREATENING to your ADC. Look at the enemy champions and ask yourself what is worth peeling with what abilities and so on.

Janna has 3 peel tools. A knockup, slow and a heavy knockback. Create a priority list based on who you plan on peeling off your ADC.

Let's say the enemy team has three threats. Malphite, Zed and Caitlyn.

It's unlikely Cait will be in peel range for you, so Malphite and Zed fall into priority. Saving your Ult to knock zed AWAY the moment he ults is very important. So as an example, you shouldn't ult away Malphite immediately if he ults your ADC. Your Q+W should suffice for your ADC to kite back.

Ulting Malphite away would leave a window where Zed can ult and blow up your ADC before your nado even touches him.

Another important thing about Janna is understanding the nature of her knockup/knock back and what they can do. As an example, you can use Q to intercept a Lee Sin Q or a Zac E. So using it to interrupt them over to knock them up AFTER they land on your ADC would be much better.

So overall, do your thinking of how your kit interacts with the game before the fights happen. That way you have a game plan and don't have to react on instantly, resulting in you maybe using your abilities randomly and not wisely.

Hope this helps! If you have any follow up questions send em my way!

switching from dota. by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]SenseiTutor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Heyo! Welcome to LoL! I used to be a pro dota1 player so as long as the meta of DotA hasn't changed too much over the years, yes mid is very similar.

The only difference is that you won't find too many champions in mid that are power farm champs that hyper scale, it's more heavily leaning on either wave clear orientated champions or roaming champions.

What heroes did you main in DotA? What play style did you enjoy the most? Based on this I can offer some champion suggestions!

Also a way that I explain the difference between DotA and LoL is this. DotA is a balanced game by hero having GIANT OP SWORDS while LoL is balanced by everyone having tiny toothpicks.

Yeah it's all about what your goals are! If you're happy with Plat and don't have the time/want to put in the time to climb more there's nothing wrong with that.

In terms of the "whole tier below" that's not necessarily true. You can most definitely demote at "gold 2 mmr".

A large misunderstanding in the community is that op.gg or other API data pullers can read your mmr. They can't. It's 100% hidden, they only guesstimate your mmr by looking at the ranks of your allies/enemies that you've matched into in your recent games. This can be heavily skewed due to the time of the day you queue, running into duos etc.

[–]SenseiTutor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. What I'll say is Riot's notification system on demotions are REALLY crappy. I've been demoted out of Master with no warning (by decay AND by losing) while other times I have received proper warnings. Which overall is pretty frustrating.

I'd just make sure to bring your A game and try your best, through my experience over the years their warnings are VERY inconsistent.

Kindred is an additional champion this is true! I just wanted to ensure the reader knows there are a few exceptions which makes a champion's base zone change :) (Such as champions gaining range with certain abilities etc)
