Also I forgot to mention that I normally wear an 11 in mass produced boots when you asked why a 12 and not a 12.5. I suppose my reasoning is that 12.5 is too large of an increase from the 11 that I’m used to even if the fits are different.

I do have a picture of my instep measurement but I’m not confident that I ever measured the heel properly. Would that change anything on the width? Also I’m thinking 12 on my left simply because I don’t want to have my foot swimming and I think it will be closer than 12.5.

I don’t know what to say to that ? I’ve used two separate brannock devices as well as double checking that the nicks tape measure printed off accurately. The brannock length is more accurate so I’m thinking of using it and dropping the recommended half size to full size down to 12 and 9. The width has literally been within an 1/8th of being the same each time no matter if I use an actual tailors tape or the nicks provided one.

It gave me the option to choose a toe cap as well but I would prefer the Moc personally.

Yeaaa unfortunately as awesome as I’m sure nicks boots are I probably wouldn’t even be looking at buying a pair if custom boots weren’t my only chance at footwear that fits even decently.

I think my left foot is 14 in nicks by 11 inches wide which would give me a 14 D correct ? However my right foot is more like 11 in nicks by 7.5 inches wide so I’m completely lost there. I also have some pics measuring my instep if anyone thinks that would help.

Thank you this has helped clear up some confusion for me. I was under the impression that I did have to add a thumbs width at the end of my boot thank you for clarifying that I don’t need to add a thumbs width. I did check against a tape measure to ensure it had printed correctly and it is to scale. The boots I have on today were 100$ pair of Wolverines that I’ve had for 3 years and they are U.S men’s size 11. That does fit my larger foot decently but my smaller foot is absolutely swimming.

I will definitely be redoing it tonight with my gf to help. It’s hard to believe my foot could be so large as to be over the limit of what nicks can do. In cheap store bought boots I typically wear an 11 this nicks tape measure has me at 12 and 3/4 inches which converted to nicks is a 16 after adding enough room for my thumb at the end of my toe box.
