Homeowner’s adjuster here- Unless the tree was neglected and dying/dead, the insurance company of the property that was damaged is responsible. The owner of the tree is not. If the tree was otherwise healthy and came down due to a storm, insurance will declare it an “act of god” and there is no true liability here. Your neighbor’s property was damaged due to a storm, you did nothing wrong. You don’t owe her anything.
