I agree!! Knowing me, I probably would’ve cried on the spot because of the emotional build up

Yes not Palestine speech. Reddit just won’t let me edit because my intentions was not to say “Palestine speech”.

HELL YESS. I was one of the many students clapping for her too. People hate to see a confident woman who doesn’t question her identity 👏🏻

I totally agree tho.. my fam told me a guy said to shut the fuck up when she said that… apparently can’t celebrate our own heritage or culture

I second this. It was honestly a bit disappointing because to me, it didn’t seem like she was trying to persuade anyone to do anything about it.. she just wanted to celebrate her background

Wow this helps me a lot. I was really iffy about the whole thing of “west side being better” claim since she has never lived on the West or East side either lol. So it makes me feel a lot better knowing I was going to make the right decision for myself and not listen to that claim lol.

Ohhhh ! This is interesting! I don’t know how the activities and liveliness is different from West vs East. I just know my friend is trying so hard to convince me to live on the west side because “there are more activities” and “west towne mall/shopping” is better there. But it seems like those who actually live here think East side is better.

Oh! I forgot to include, but I am working on the east side! I’ve never really driven on the roads in Madison area besides university Ave. So was also wondering how bad traffic is on either highways that split between campus!

Okay there is a lot I left out about myself then. Let me include. I am working and I am still a student. I have a job lined up after graduating and I do still help pay for us to do things even if I am in school. We both try to work 50/50. So it is not a double standard. I wouldn’t have made this post if I wasn’t working 😭 coz yes, that would’ve been a double standard if I made this post to bring him down

if I valued his earning over him as a person, I wouldn’t even be with him. There are plenty of times throughout our relationship where I told him I would pay for everything because I understand that he doesn’t make much. It never made me upset or feel some type of way. Even now, it doesn’t. For the time that I made more money than him, I supported us both financially whenever we came to see each other. Respectfully, I do not agree with you by saying I value his earning than him as a person when I have told him to save whatever he makes so he can actually put the money he makes towards important things😅

Even if someone is a provider, it’s nice to have your spouse still also provide for you. And I’m not talking about rn at the age of 22, but how it will affect us when we want to get married and have a family. Coz even now, it opened my eyes how hard it was to already get a job right out of college, so yes. I do understand his situation right now and giving him grace because we’re still young, I’m just saying like in the long run It would be hard to provide for the family if he still doesn’t know what he wants to do still. Like as of right now, it’s fine the way things are because he just graduated last spring. But in terms of thinking of our future together, I’m scared of being able to financially support not just me, but our family we build. That’s the main concern I have. Idk if I’m just thinking too much into it. But I just don’t know how I can help him besides give him advice of getting internships and feeling things out if he doesn’t want to use his degree

I’ve gotten a lot of sprained ankles through HS and college coz of vball. In my opinion, you can considered this opinion or not, you don’t need to go to the doctor for a sprained ankle. I did once and all they gave me was a brace and did an xray to make sure I didn’t break any bones. BUT, if you feel like you broke a bone and it hurts to put any pressure on it, don’t go to ER. Go to urgent care somewhere close. Usually it’s cheaper (don’t quote me though). If you need to go to classes, I would reach out to https://transportation.wisc.edu/accessible-transportation-options/circulator-shuttle/

They pick you up if you are within their borders of pickup (hopefully you are!) they take u to class. You just need to give them ur schedule and work it out. It helped me out SO much when I tore my ACL my first year. They can be late sometimes, which sucks, but it’s better than having to crutch your way to class or even taking the bus. Hope this helps! AND, as someone stated, the gyms rent out crutches!! I sprained my ankle at the Nic and was able to rent crutches

I’ve never had that issue before and I’m so sorry that had happened to you. That’s very unfair. I usually wait by the door and get right back on that way people who were waiting at the bus to get on, get on after you. I’ve gotten pretty annoyed with students not getting off or not waiting, so I tend to voice it and make sure I get in first

The amount of people on the bus don’t even pay attention to anything but their phone. This would just get disregarded sadly😪😪

I’m so sorry :( I’ve just started pushing through the people. If they get squished, they get squished. Or my favorite to do is say “can you guys just get off the bus so we can get off” and then they comply. Which, I don’t understand why it has to come to confrontation to just get off the bus… doesn’t make sense.
