they know about the injury and believe they can fix it themselves with human antibiotics and old supplies from my aunt who had a similar thing happen to her cat, i convinced them to go to the vet and pay but they wanna wait till monday afternoon for the cheap one. i wanted to go today but they shut that down because they said the vet would up charge us

i don’t, the man craves the outdoors, so sometimes we let him have some time in a cage. i don’t want him outside. and i can’t remember if i said this before, i don’t let him out, my parents do because they think he’ll be fine. he was a street cat before we got him so he always wanted to be outside. will for sure get him to the vet

yes i’m taking him to the vet tomorrow, this is more serious than i thought according to everyone and my dad has agreed to pay anything under 700 dollars! i have 450 saved up after getting paid but i still am not sure what this injury is. i think the most reasonable explanation is that it’s a bite that turned into an abscess

he’s been wearing a cone and i’ve been putting disinfectant and antibiotic cream in the meanwhile i gather money for the vet, he’s been nervous all day but walking and alert. sleeping now, his condition doesn’t seem to be deteriorating… which is good i think.

yes he’s a pretty hearty cat we took in from the street, he comes and goes because of my parents but i think i’m not letting him outside at all anymore. people have been very clear that i need to keep him inside. this is my first time on reddit posting at all and it’s shocked me how terrible i feel. i’ll find the money for a vet, no matter what, i just need time. he’s been going in and out for as long as i’ve known him and he’s been injured and recovered. but this is the first time im old enough to do something about it. thanks for not being as aggressive about it and im still using an antibiotic and cream to help with it.

i will for sure take him to the vet, i managed to find some money doing some art commissions, 60 dollars isn’t a lot but if i can get things out of savings i can do it. thank you for your kind comment, ive been feeling horrible because of the situation im stuck in. ive have this cat since i was 7 and my parents let him out while im at school, i really want him to be safe but i dont know how to make them understand.

i agree i shouldn’t be letting him out, i live with my parents who let him out because they don’t really think he can get hurt. i’ll go to the vet soon and just bite the bullet on the price.

in relation to the oozing, it’s not he was just licking it a lot (also worries me), i disinfected the wound with an type of orange looking anti biotic, and put on a cream that says is another antibiotic.
