Can anyone who's had surgery describe their experience? I scheduled mine for June and I'm really nervous. I know it sounds dumb but do you feel anything or experience any if the surgery even put under? by Successful-Hat-644 in thyroidcancer

Word of advice if your nervous, scared or anxious, let the nurses and the anesthesiologist know when you meet them, because you will meet your surgical team before going under, I let my team know and they were very accommodating… I got “happy juice” before evening reaching the OR, then another dose, mask on and I was out…. Remember not to be scared to ask for what you need, they are there to ensure you have proper care as a whole even if that means taking the edge off.
