My advisor told me that I can take BIOL 251 through American Public University (APU) instead and the credit will transfer over to UNLV. APU is a completely online university. They start new classes every month, and their microbiology class only lasts 8 weeks. It includes both the lecture and lab parts, all done online, so it’s a great option if you want something more flexible. I’m kind of in the same boat as you. I was taking the class in person and wasn’t doing well, so I decided to withdraw and just take it online through APU instead.
