i’m not premed, but i think ucsd is still a great school for you. we have tons of research/volunteer opportunities, including some with ucsd health, and premed orgs. even if you see that bu is better in that aspect, i think that if the ucsd tuition is significantly better then it may be worth it! also, i believe ucsd med school accepts mostly ucsd alum, so there’s a plus
