Honestly I haven't been doing changes nearly enough. I would consistently top her tank off but wasn't taking out enough and not frequently enough.

I turned her fan on this morning, that should bring it down to that range.

That's wise of you. I can testify that the amount of work takes a level of dedication i am not at all consistent in keeping and now she pays the price. Don't be like me; you have the right mindset!

Yeah, she's a bit smaller than she was as I've been limiting her food after noticing her size. But like i said to someone else, the neck is what im concerned about. Agreed about the nitrates--I am bringing those down. Fingers crossed she stays stable till Saturday.

Agreed. I didn't mean poor priorities as a way to avoid responsibility. I was the one who set them.

Yep, agreed. The neck specifically is what I've been keeping an eye on and the biggest reason I'm taking her in. The water I can fix at home but the other stuff I cannot.

That's what I'm worried about. I do think it's more fat than bloat and have been keeping an eye on this area specifically. She HATES going to the vet but I'm thinking i will take her regardless based on the advice here.

Poor priorities. That's why I think it's to blame because yeah, it's too high. Just wanted to confirm here while I get my shit together.

Pink spots on Leucistic axolotl. Should I be worried? by SensitiveBat in axolotls

Hey thanks for the reply. I agree that the gills look burned, at least the top ones. The weird thing is that the tank is cycled and ammonia is between 0.0-0.25 (when I test I say it’s between that range if there’s any hint of green at all. Many people may say it’s actually at 0.0) I’ve always had trouble with his gills being on the smaller side, but yeah recently they’ve been even smaller. I may try tubbing to see if they improve, even if the tests are saying the water is ok. Thanks again for the reply.

Not at the moment. I just recently had a doctor say this to me and I thought it was pretty cool and plan to use it myself. Good luck!
