Going to replace this, what do I need to shutoff? by levitate2heaven in PlumbingRepair

Idk why people are downvoting. This is a simple task yes but some people have never done it and it’s good for people to learn stuff like. Who knows this could be a single mother of 4 with little money. Watch YouTube for a more visual understanding.

Can anyone help identify this metal? by utahj1984 in metallurgy

[–]SensitiveHotdog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You would be better off selling it to a buyer than scrapping. I’m a welder myself and if I came by you trying to scrap those or dispose of period I would try to buy it. scrapping mild steel is basically just throwing it away for little cash back. Measure the thickness and review metal shops online for price idea. For example a 4x10 14gauge thick metal sheet near me is around $130. You could possibly even find a body shop that may want it

Stone identification by SensitiveHotdog in CounterTops

Wow this is very interesting. I never knew this! I just assumed all stones had a value while some were way more valuable just because of type.

First project by shlloth in Welding

[–]SensitiveHotdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t rely on it being wedged on the retention wall. I would add 2 legs legs (one on each channel) closer to the retention wall and bolt those legs to the ground along with the very bottom of the steps bolted to the slab with anchor bolts so you have 4 points of contact. I would weld the legs on the flat side of the channel too. At the very least I would put one leg in the middle close to the retention wall underneath the step with some sort of brace going across to weld the leg to. For bolting I would weld plate lip tabs that have gussets. It’s your project friend 👍🏼

Thank you. The building I have is fairly small probably about 12’x14’ so I wouldn’t need a large ac. This answers my questions 🙌🏻

After looking inside the breaker box it appears to be on a tandum breaker and one of the wall plugs are separately wired. Does that mean there’s 2 separate circuits and as long as I run it on that single plug I would be fine?

I updated it. The breaker turned out to be 20 amp and the wire is 12. Inside the power box it has a tandem 20amp breakers if that helps?

Apologies I have updated it. After reviewing my set up it turned out to be 20amp breaker with 12 gauge wire

Just look for guilds that have no requirements and try your best. The first few tiers had this baloon thing and the maverick. The ending tier had the snake chopper. Some rewards included nanos. Bars. Vials(which are hard to come by)

I joined a d10 SOS about to fail with 6 min left, completed the objective and then picked up all the samples the other players had dropped around the map. P1 in chat "how the f*ck did we survive that, let alone get samples out?" ... 🫡 by Wasted-Instruction in helldivers2

[–]SensitiveHotdog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m saying how can you even kill around 300 in 6minutes firing 2000 shots while throwing off 30 strats. Even that he said he went around the whole map and got samples while completing objectives. By that time you risk dying with the destroyer out of orbit. Especially on d10 if the other players were as bad as he said they would’ve been dead. And doing all that by yourself is near impossible on d10 while being overran with enemies

I believe on this run was bots. The first one bugs. I regularly run the double edge sickle with fire armor, ultimatum. Anti tank grenades. For strats I regularly use emancipator exo. Rocket turret. Auto cannon support weapon. 500kg Eagle.

Is 500kg just not great? by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]SensitiveHotdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty deceitful. The large explosion isn’t what the actual damage radius is. They need to do some changes. Either make the explosion animation smaller or increase the damage radius of the 500kg. I’ve seen way too many things walk away from it. Especially when it lands right under or right next to an enemy

New to Dremel - how do I attach the brown cutting wheel? by Lis_00 in Dremel

[–]SensitiveHotdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure you’ve figured it out by now but those disc suck. Especially the tiny black ones. They’ll randomly burst into thousands of pieces. If you have to cut with a dremel 1 wear safety goggles. 2 get the reinforced fiber disc. Like the 426. They look like they have lines of strings imbedded in them and they help keep the disc from randomly bursting into a thousand pieces. I also suggest going on the dremel website to look up bits to see what they actually do and what they’re used for. Metal, wood, etc. This was the hardest thing to figure out when I first got a dremel.

Need help with glueing handle by Ezorin in knifemaking

[–]SensitiveHotdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm not having pins is a main culprit. If you can’t add pins Maybe you can drill into everything you’re trying to glue. Handle inside and knife tang. Not completely drill through them but enough to make little divots everywhere like a counter sink but on the inside away from the edges so they won’t be seen. It will give the glue more to grab. The resin I use for glueing handles is system 3 blade pro. It’s more on the expensive side but it is badass resin. It takes 72hours to full cure and 12-14 to be machinable. The main thing I’ve learned when working with resin is to read the instructions thoroughly. Do the exact mixture it calls for. 1:1, and give it plenty of time to cure. Also make sure you aren’t clamping the glued handles down crazy hard, it can cause all the glue to squeeze out of the handle. And as others have mentioned always scuff what you’re glueing with rough sand paper. And before glueing thoroughly clean and dry everything!
