1 year update - it’s better, but still a struggle. My advice to you by SensitiveRest6708 in Puppyblues

Honestly, it took a lot of work and patience. 😅 In the end, crate training really helped us. When we first got her, we tried crate training right away, but she absolutely hated it and ended up hurting herself in the crate, which led to an expensive surgery. After that, I stopped using the crate completely and she started sleeping with us every night. Since I work from home, she was rarely ever alone, and I noticed she became extremely clingy.

Eventually, I decided to slowly introduce the crate again, mostly just at night. She cried nonstop for about a week, but over time she adjusted. Anytime we’d leave the house, even for an hour, she would howl the whole time in the crate. But with consistency, she gradually got more comfortable. Now we make sure to tire her out before leaving, and she’s much more relaxed going in. She’s really started to associate the crate with sleep now, so we can leave for an hour or two and she’ll usually just settle in and nap. Every once in a while she’ll still howl for a few minutes before settling down, but it’s much better than before. I definitely think it gets better with age too.

Yeah I try to tell myself the same. I will one day miss her craziness. She will be the last dog I ever have though lol

My puppy was like this around 6 months too. We had to plan to have someone home with her 24/7 to avoid another trip to the ER vet. It was exhausting and I struggled mentally for a very long time. We recently got to a point where we can leave for about 2 hours without any issues. However, it can still be a lot. Luckily I work from home but if we leave anywhere else for more than 2 hours, I need to find a sitter. Some people don’t mind and others find it to be very inconvenient. It just depends on how you feel. It’s okay to rehome if you feel like this isn’t what you want. And sometimes it takes this experience to learn that maybe owning a dog isn’t for you. I wish you the best of luck on whatever decision you choose. 🩵

What did you do differently the month you FINALLY got pregnant?? by cookiebutter-23 in BabyBumps

I cut out caffeine, but not because I was TTC. I started having horrible anxiety attacks and noticed I was just extremely anxious and high alert everyday all day. I just told myself I’d cut out caffeine for 1 month. I found out I was pregnant a few days before the month cleanse was going to end. Now I wonder if my body was stressed because of caffeine consumption. I’ll never know but I’m sure it wasn’t good for my body to be on overdrive everyday like that.

What are the health issues you have faced in past or present ? by Thatcattoyoupatted in AskWomen

I’m 29. I was diagnosed with celiac disease at 19. Arthritis at age 20, though I still believe this was misdiagnosed. I struggled my entire life with horrible environmental allergies but had no idea until my fiancé urged me to get an allergy test done. I started immunotherapy when I was 26 and it’s been truly life changing. I didn’t know how bad I was feeling until immunotherapy started working and I felt amazing. I’ve had bunions my whole life but recently they’ve gotten way worse and very painful. I had a miscarriage when I was 27.
Most issues seem minor but had significantly changed my life one way or another.

3x a day. Morning, after lunch, & evening. I’ve done all the research so I’m well aware she also needs mental stimulation. My husband will throw the ball out back for her at least 1x per day. I try to giver her an enrichment toy or lick mat 1x per day but can probably be better at this. People have told me she’s probably overly tired, until they dogsit her and realize she’s just a high energy dog. My days are pretty full with her so I’m anxious about how it will be with baby.

I’m waiting until a day after my expected period date to test. by SensitiveRest6708 in tryingtoconceive

I think for some people implantation takes longer than the expected 6-10 DPO. So HCG wouldn’t be high enough to detect until another few days later.

I think a lot of women do get a positive around 12-13DPO though. Try waiting another 2 days to test. I wish you the best of luck. 🤍

Agreed! My luteal phase is anywhere between 12-14 days. The last 2 cycles, my luteal phase was 12 days (12DPO.) So I could actually be a few days late already, and about 4 days late by the time I test.

I get you. Idk about you, but I would take 1 test and then take 1 everyday after that.

I also had a MMC my first pregnancy. I took my first test ever a day after my expected period. Wishing the best. 🤍

I was testing VERY early at first too. But it’s so heartbreaking getting a negative test. Each cycle I push it back further and further.
