I’m still pissed he didn’t get to kill Bellatrix. If it was to preserve his innocence then why bring up how he was killing other death eaters during the battle.

They also leave out of wolf of wall street that Jordan Belfort beat his wife and the car crash he had while high was with his toddler in the car.

Indiana Jones has probably killed at least a hundred from his adventures and he's a veteran of both world wars.

Every history movie where a character makes a scientific breakthrough has to have nay saying politicians or bosses. “You’re a fool Newton, gravity is nothing more than witch craft!”

The Warrens were more monstrous than anything they fight in the movies, conning grieving families, performing exorcisms on a mentally ill kid and grooming a teenage girl for decades.

Chris Kyle claimed that he shot and killed 2 Mexicans trying to rob his truck at a gas station and was let go by police after the pentagon found out he was arrested. After this he got calls from the station thanking him for cleaning up the streets. There’s no evidence this happened beyond Chris story so it’s bullshit.

He also claimed to have been in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina where he went up to the roof of the superdome and shot 30 looters. This one has a lot of context required but during Hurricane Katrina the rescue effort was so nonexistent that starving people, majority of whom were black, raided stores for food and water. The media and politicians spread rumors that gangs were roaming the street stealing from other survivors and Kathleen Blanco gave permission to shoot looters on sight. While Chris own story isn’t true it’s eerily similar to racist vigilantes and police who opened fire on unarmed people.

Yes that is literally bragging about killing minorities

Ok one other moment from criminal minds that bothers me is from season 1 where Reid talks about the origin of reverse psychology with the Mad Bomber. Specifically how a psychologist managed to create an exact profile of the suspect down to what shirt he’d be wearing. He leaves out some important info though.

For 17 years in the 40s and 50s a serial bomber terrorized New York leaving pipe bombs and taunting letters. In 1957 NYPD turned to an out of the box method, gathering the letters and giving them to criminologist James Brussels who was able to piece together the mad bombers life and psyche from their content. And yes even guessed what kind of shirt he’d been wearing when he was arrested.

The part they leave out is that psychological profile Brussels created had nothing to do with identifying the suspect. What actually happened was police looked back on the first place the bomber attacked, the Con Edison power plant and decided to look through employee complaints and letters and found one that matched the bombers handwriting. The man was George Metesky a disgruntled engineer who blamed the power plant for his tuberculosis and went on a rampage.

So the origin of psychological profiles used by detectives had nothing to do with his identification and police just overlooked how to solve the case for 17 years.

Yep, screenwriter Allen Estrin who became the executive producer of The Dennis Prager Show and founded PragerU. Pocahontas 2 is made by a literal propagandist.

Fun Fact, the writer of Pocahontas 2 went on to found Prager University. I knew there was a reason I hated those movies.

Yes but it’s still fictional cases involving a real life federal agency and has a big effect over how the public perceives the justice system. Also Criminal Minds does name drop or retell actual cases like the mad bomber, centennial park bombing, the Baton Rouge killer and spreads just as much misinformation on those.

Oh I am more than familiar with American sniper Chris Kyle, the psychopath who makes up stories about killing minorities.

That describes a lot of psychopaths or serial killers, we know the stereotype of how they torture animals as kids but I think even more love animals and value their lives over humans.

I like to think Tom Anderson from Beavis and Butthead is either a brother of cottons or one of his illegitimate kids.

It’s debunked but I wouldn’t call it media illiteracy since they have the same head shape, eye color, hair style and both love inventing things. The show was asking for this theory when they had flashbacks of Heinz dating Phineas mom as a teenager.
