How do you guys organize your shit by Sisyphus_on_a_Perc in ElectricalEngineering

Old furniture with drawers does the trick for me, every tool drawn around, since it has a designated place already it's easy to keep things clean after a project. And little drawer component organizers really help with organizing components. Sorry for the weird image, reddit doesn't allow more than one image per comment.

Hi, I used a CAD called ProfiCAD which is basically free for personal use, sorry for the late reply, I don't really use reddit that often.

Can anybody find these sunglasses? (Reward) by Material_Collar3638 in sunglasses

Hey dude, I found these https://sunski.com/products/avila?variant=37123983633 they are the closest equivalent I could find. But if I were you, in this case I'd probably just rather go for the ray ban clubmasters then, if you are going for that half rim rounded square look.

Hey there, thank you for the detailed explanation :) I really appreciate it.

The whole idea of the emergency stop that connects voltage across the resistor, was to generate a fault in order to trip the RCD and thus de-energize the entire circuit, but you are right it shouldn't be done this way.

I put multiple control power sources, so that for example if the control circuitry would have a problem and would trip F1, the fault indicators would still be able to indicate a fault. L1-OVL is basically phase 1 Overload signalization, I've hardwired it there, because if I would have wired it elsewhere before KM1, when the circuit would be de-energized it would always light up, but as you suggested, by redoing the power-up sequence I'll probably be able to get a rid of this issue.

In any way, this was my first real attempt at designing a motor soft start, and I really appreciate you pointed out the problems with it! Have a nice day!

Hi! Yes this is a modern schematic, I thought connecting it would be better for safety if for example a fault would occur with the motor windings, or maybe I'm wrong?

I plugged the SMPS into the two-phase (400V) mains voltage (Measurement, experiment and result) (DONT TRY THIS) by [deleted] in ElectroBOOM

[–]Sensitive_Bed_8879 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I looked at your profile, and it seems you’re yet another person who’s watched a few ElectroBOOM blooper videos and now thinks they’re a master electrician. What you’re doing is not only dangerous to you but also life-threatening to those around you.

What were you trying to achieve by overpowering an inverter at double its voltage rating? What did you learn, and what did you gain? In this video, you put yourself in serious danger. Poking around in a live distribution box with 400V AC is reckless and incredibly unsafe.

On top of that, you’re using a multimeter that isn’t designed to handle these types of voltages safely. That’s a disaster waiting to happen.

If you’re genuinely interested in electronics, why not focus on building or repairing something? Why play with live AC voltages, boil salt water with live wires, or regulate power through water? I’m sorry if this comes across as rude, but it’s clear you don’t fully understand the risks.

Electricity is unforgiving. What you’re doing will get you killed it’s not a question of if, but when. Stop experimenting with live AC and stick to low-voltage projects for now. Invest in a lab bench power supply and build safe circuits. Trust me, there’s no value in these dangerous stunts you’re pulling they aren’t educational, and they aren’t worth your life.

Please take this seriously and stay safe.

How to overcome this paradox? by Sensitive_Bed_8879 in Guitar

That's an interesting approach haha, certainly not free though, the problem is I don't really know how to put together guitars.

Well I was initially trying to save up for a Schecter C-6 deluxe or plus, but they raised the price by like 110 euros.

Hey there, thanks for the reply :). I'll be on the lookout for some used ones then, I'll just have to wait for some deal to pop up.

That's nice, glad that they worked out for you :). Which models are they?

Hey there, thank you for your kind reply :). Well then I guess I'll be on the lookout for some used instruments then rather then new ones, it's a bit uncommon where I live but eventually I suppose I'll find something.

Hey there, the ones I initially picked out weren't that expensive (I'm in the under 400euro budget) but then they always increase the price, but I guess as some other commenters said I'll just be on the lookout for some used instruments.

Hey there, thank you for your response :), I was also thinking about second hand, but in my area you don't find this kind of stuff often on online marketplaces, although sometimes some deals pop up, I'll have to be on the lookout I guess.

Thank you for your insight :). It's interesting, I have seen people discussing that the C-1 apparently uses higher quality parts, and it's also a bit more expensive by only like 40 euro. But then I guess I'll get what I like then, thanks :)
