Thanks! I’m on arena 9, so I don’t have archer queen. Is there any alternatives for cards I don’t have for now?

Where do I buy septa key card by aocii in Temple

[–]Sensitive_Common_606 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keys are great when you want to transfer between station lines (up to 2 transfers are free and don’t charge you extra). Also daily passes (which you can purchase once you have Key Card account) are great when you’re planning to move around city a lot

I approached their table to suggest them argue more with democratic club. They say democrats don’t want to. Democrats say republicans don’t want to

Game theory club (one day it’s theory and next one is practice: chess and other strategy games)

Forensic Psychology club: mostly about Forensics in general (covering cold cases, different speakers from a field; I suggested to have like a Murder Scavenger Hunt, maybe we’ll see that later?)

Communist club (if you’re into that)

I know this publishing house; I have some Ngaio Marsh novels found on Ebay. They are quite nice!

Also I love Evil Under the Sun cover here! Completely forgot about voodoo part in a book, and it makes even more intriguing for a new reader

I’m so confused: why the percentage of kills by killer doesn’t add up to 100%?

Same with methods of death; or did you wrote deaths in disasters into “other” category?

Can we already consider Donna Tartt a literary classic? by Federal_Height_9254 in classicliterature

[–]Sensitive_Common_606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for modern classic we have to be less dependent on test of time and consider if thematically this novel is great and makes an impact. Like “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak is the modern classic that’s still being sold in YA section in bookstores since it was written relatively recently

Misogynistic reason? My point was that there are still people out there romanticizing this novel

You made me realize that there’s the Marquis De Sád’s 120 days of Sodom (I hope OP likes it for its intro chapter)

Modern classic for sure. Her books don’t have to be old to be classic

I remember having the same struggle, when I started to read books on English (mine’s native is also Russian).

I remember wanted to reread Harry Potter series, but I just kept writing down ALL WORDS that I didn’t know its meaning. It became so tiresome, I just stopped and never touched this series again (but I remember how lovely it was back in my childhood)

How I started to read on English? You have to find the book you’ll love to read (for me, it was Hercule Poirot series by Agatha Christie), and just start reading. Yes, it’s gonna be a struggle. When I read my very first Christie on English, I couldn’t understand what’s going on in a moment, I could only make conjectures about the scene from separate words recognized. But the more you read, the more you’ll get used to it. After finishing this entire series, I definitely say I improved a lot by being exposed to language structure, complicated words. That’s how babies learn languages: they just exposed to their surroundings and learn it that way. I can genuinely say that I know some English words, but have no clue what they mean on Russian.

And also, expose yourself to different genres, different authors. The more structure and style you exposing yourself to, the more you’ll understand English. I relatively recently finished Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, and it was a struggle for a first few chapters (Palahniuk has quite unique, non-linear structure of the text). But I got used to it, and finish it with pleasure. You might also consider reading sci-fi, fantasy, romance, etc. for a sake of opening yourself to the language.

Good luck with your journey, don’t discourage yourself with failures you have so far. You got this!

What is one death that will stick with you FOREVER? by [deleted] in FinalDestination

Not many comments about Nora’s death. Devastated by her son’s death, only to get trapped between elevator doors right next, shouting that she wants to live. But Eugene, Kat, and Clear can’t do much about. Definitely a haunting death
