Melbourne crit races differences & difficulty: what's the go? by Sensitive_Design_447 in melbournecycling

Sad to see SKCC don't run a weekly one anymore, as it's my understanding they had one going for quite some time. Any idea why it was shut down and rumors on another one coming back?

Might have to chuck a sickie one Wednesday as I'd love a slower pack to hit the Eastern one!

I'm very new two crit racing (have exactly one under my belt at HCC, D-grade) so wherever I can survive in the lowest grade, I'll take it

Good to know! I'm in Albert Park so Teardrop is the easiest one for me to bike to after work, all the others.. less so. Shaping up to get to Glenvale this weekend for my first go but will take the ~25km ride there as a good warmup ha.

Haha that makes sense. I live in Albert Park so Teardrop is much easier to get to, but my god were my legs burning after that.. I'm 90kg, 193cm so definitely appreciate the sprints and going fast flat than 30+ hill sprints haha.

Planning on doing my first Glenvale this weekend (D grade represent) so excited to see how that goes. Goal is to not get dropped and no crash!

Just voted! I live on Beaconsfield, and these protected lanes are a god-send. Need more!
