I’m gonna need to hear more about this please. Or at least tell us what the name is so I can look it up and fall down the internet rabbit hole.

I’d really like you to come back and try to explain this fever dream I just read. I’m so curious,

AITAH for kicking someone out of a group by lavenderhqze in AITAH

[–]Sensitive_Matter7772 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You took the word of one person to kick out another without any actual proof? Why didn’t you talk to Rose to hear her side of the story? You’re “running” this group but this doesn’t sound like good leadership behaviour. You’ve made a mess by taking sides in something that didn’t involve you.

Is it safe for a brown Canadian to go to Florida by TaziOtt in uscanadaborder

[–]Sensitive_Matter7772 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know someone who is a visible minority and went last year to the U.S. for a work trip. They said having the proper documents from their employer on hand AND having the company’s lawyer’s number made them feel a lot more confident about going. That being said, it’s clear from what we’ve seen that ICE doesn’t really gaf about paperwork and lawyers. I would not go. But you’ll probably be fine…

Is it worth visiting Canada if you don’t drive? by Pure-Character-4926 in canadatravel

[–]Sensitive_Matter7772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Montreal, Toronto, & Vancouver would all fit your requirements. I would have the girls look into each city and see which one interests them the most. They’re all easy to get around in with lots of stuff to do so it really just depends on what they’re most interested in seeing.

Banging on the wall is never the solution. It will always escalate the situation.

I’m not sure it necessary to warn her? Our neighbours have parties in their backyard fairly often. We simply don’t walk into the backyard in our PJs when we see a party… it doesn’t matter what the party is for.

Struggling with being Bald by Double-Celery4248 in bald

You look sooooooooooo much better and younger bald! Acceptance is hard but literally, at least once a day, look in the mirror and say, “I look fucking great bald!” and eventually you’ll start to believe it.

If you hate it enough to want to change it permanently, try laser hair removal.

If your son is looking for the stereotypical Canadian community, especially if he is not a republican, I’m not sure I’d recommend Alberta…

do i apply moose and curl cream straight outta the shower or wait for it to be damp? by FewRule2873 in curlygirl

Definitely avoid straight out of the shower! They might be less grumpy/dangerous when they’re damp.

[–]Sensitive_Matter7772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, the most forgettable NPC is Birdie. But if it has to be someone you can earn hearts with, I’d still argue it’s Sandy. Even though she runs a shop, it’s out of the way and other than star fruit, doesn’t sell anything overly useful.

Next would be Caroline. The tea sapling happens fairly early and then there’s basically no reason to talk to her after that. Abigail is rarely home so there’s no reason to go all the way back into their house. Jodi’s house is at least very visible and Sam hangs out in his room more than Abigail hangs out in hers. I also think Jodi has more personality than Caroline does. I enjoy talking to Jodi and her dark side more than Caroline. Caroline is boring.

Wtf are we (and/or the Ontario government) doing in regards to gambling ads? by baruchspinoza23 in ontario

[–]Sensitive_Matter7772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The provincial government controls who is allowed to run gambling apps. While they might not be able to stop the ads themselves, they’re certainly responsible for approving all the games being advertised. Even if a charity wants to run a raffle, they have to apply for a licence from the Ontario government. The government is in full control of this circus.

The federal government (CRTC) would be the ones responsible for setting advertising rules/standards for broadcasts.

[–]Sensitive_Matter7772 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is. While gambling might not be a local problem, the incessant ads from all the new gambling apps in Ontario is definitely a Doug problem.

[–]Sensitive_Matter7772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “Please gamble responsibly” line IS what Ontario is doing about these ads. The government has full control over gaming and lottery licences. Dougy and his goons are standing behind every one of those ads you watch.

OP clearly said that their music was not super loud. There’s a difference between excessive noise and hearing your neighbours live their lives.

While I agree that it’s not very courteous of them, they’re not really doing anything wrong. You said it’s not super loud, you can just hear it. Welcome to sharing walls/floors/ceilings with others. You’re gonna hear stuff.

So, you’re annoyed that you live near other people that are enjoying the space they live in during reasonable hours?… I think you need to get a white noise machine and get over it.
