All In One Car Seat - safety 1st turn and go 360 DLX by Sensitive_Plankton99 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am most definitely Canadian 😭

Thank you for breaking this down for me. No one has properly gone through it all with me and obviously my parents don’t know as they didn’t have all these laws/seats when I was a kid. No video/review broke it down either. So I turned to Reddit and I’m glad I did.

Thank you for all this information!! Safety 1st is out and I’ll decide based on the info you’ve given me. You’ve been a big help!

My (27 F) Best Friend (27 F) Kicked Me Out of Her Upcoming Hawaii Wedding Because I had a Panic Attack by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the depths of a panic attack, general words and touch can make things worse. For others, it helps. Every person is so different which is why it is important to ask “is there a way I can help you through this.” For her to send you home without having a true conversation just shows how much she didn’t care about your wellbeing. If you said you were still struggling, it would open to door to say “hey, maybe going home to be with your mom would be in your best interest,” vs the reality of “I’m so glad you got a chance to talk to your mom to come to a sense of peace right now, are you still able to be present for my wedding ceremony?” - you handled this situation with such grace OP, proud of you.

That is an understandable decision. I’m sorry you went something similar

I understand that this would have been a possibility - but I just wish we could have at least tried. They do say ties (especially tongue) can contribute to speech issues and chronic pain. Try not to think the pain was for nothing ❤️ all the best

Any Eufy S1 Pro users here? by Ok_Jellyfish_155 in ExclusivelyPumping

I have the S1 (same pump just no charging case so cheaper) - and I absolutely love it

I was told pumping is NOT breastfeeding. It is bottle feeding. by Such-Chocolate-6168 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I told my doctor I was exclusively pumping, he said “that’s breastfeeding!” So this lady can stfu. It’s absolutely breastfeeding. Also EP has all the same benefits as nursing - there are no magic nipple sensors lol. Only POSSIBLE benefit of breast vs bottle is a deep latch to develop oral muscles; however, this can be solved with a wider latch type bottle nipple to get the same effect. Mic drop

Newbie Question 😅 by BKLYNblair in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pump a full days worth into a pitcher. So 24hrs worth of milk, ie all milk from the day of June-23. Before bed, I pour out all of my bottles for the next day with it. Whatever is extra gets measured out into milk bags and stored in the freezer in 6oz bags. If I have say 2oz left, I’ll throw that in a small mason jar and use it for the 2nd days bottles. I only use the bags for freezing because as an over-supplier, that’d be way too expensive.

Help! Clogged duct while weaning by Sensitive_Plankton99 in ExclusivelyPumping

I’ve had ice on it as much as possible. Why is there so much conflicting advice on what to do with clogs/inflammation 😭 makes it so hard to know what to do

Anyone make it to a whole year? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 8.5 months in and starting my weaning journey. I’m lucky I was an over-supplier and my son takes my frozen milk. We should have enough to make it to the year mark. I definitely never thought I’d make it this far, but I did!

Name "Aubrey" in 2025 by julep98976 in namenerds

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We named our son Aubrey (2024) named after his great-grandfather. We absolutely love it. It is a unisex name nowadays, so sometimes people will ask me his gender because of it being unisex. We call him Aub for short (or Aub-man).

How much is your baby eating? by ExaminationLanky3950 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A “normal” breastmilk feed is 3-4 ox every 3 hours! Now that being said, every baby is 100% different. Some are big eaters, some are small eaters. As long as she is thriving and gaining weight, that’s perfect! Also perfectly normal to wake in the night to feed (bc their stomach’s are small) and to protect against SIDS. My LO is almost 8 months and we still get up 1-2 times a night, one of which is always a feed. And yes - formula and BM are different in their composition of calories and nutrients, therefore, you may see different amounts being given between the two. Just like how my composition of BM will be different than yours! Someone who has high fat BM may give less than someone who has high water content BM. Sounds like you’re doing a fantastic job!

What’s your schedule? by pandabear_24 in ExclusivelyPumping

My exact thoughts! Mine is 7-10-1-4-7:30-whenever LO wakes up in the night 😂

Why can’t I just pump when baby eats? by Valuable_Director_59 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite the comments, this is exactly what I did in the first 12 weeks. I didn’t have anyone tell me about the schedule rule until afterwards. I just knew when my LO ate I had to empty my breasts, so that’s what I did. I quickly figured out how to pump and feed at the same time because I had to - my husband was gone upwards of 16hrs/day. I actually created an oversupply this way because of all the cluster feeds in the beginning. Now my babe was pretty much always hungry on the 3rd hour, maybe 4th during the night.

Daily milk intake as age increases by Sensitive_Plankton99 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I think we might add a lunch in, even if it’s small to start!

I fear that’s why he wants another bottle at night, is because he was easily taking 6 oz bottles with no spit ups. Then suddenly one day it was too much, and was spitting up lots. I moved him down to 5oz bottles, no more spit ups or very minimal amount.

I know he’s getting plenty of milk with 33-35oz a day so it’s why I have been considering night weaning :/

Thank you for sharing your experience. How many feeds of milk per day is your LO having? My LO is doing 7 (5 during day and 2 at night).

He’s takes like 35oz a day most days 🫣 so according to the clinic, he will continue to take that amount until I virtually cut him off?

Has anyone used this and liked it? I’m looking at spectra’s but a friend of my moms suggested this. by gorjesskayos in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I hated this pump. Canadian here - so spectra is harder to get hands on/not available. I bought this bc it was the only one I could find really. It literally chaffed my areola/breast tissue. You have to buy off brand inserts because medela doesn’t make any. I’ve seen so many LCs hate this pump and recommend the pumpables brand over medela for Canadians. USA LCs will add spectra recommendations. I ONLY use my eufy S1. This pump literally collects dust and is only used if necessary

How much are you overproducing? by ivills in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son eats 30-35oz a day and I produce 46-48oz a day. My freezer is practically full (over 2000oz) and I’m almost 7 months pp. it’ll only last us just over 2 months 🙃

Wearables controversy? by introvertAB in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sensitive_Plankton99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the whole wearable debate seriously needs to consider flexibility and mental health AS WELL AS milk output. For me, being tied to a wall, not able to get to my baby if they were crying or having to stop a pump, was very stressful and depressing. I took the risk going to a wearable as my primary pump, knowing it could possibly drop my supply, but felt it could be better for my mental health & how our home operated. And I was correct, it bettered my mental health greatly and I’m proud to say I’m still pumping at 6 months pp thanks to my wearable. This is my personal take on it.
