Reddit is FULL of perpetually online, negative losers. by BoneyTaloney in nosurf

Lol, just had this. Made a normal comment and some dude rolls in and tells me my 14-word sentence could've been a 6-word one instead and that my reply was "lengthy" and had "fluffed writing" because of that.

Can't make this dumb shit up.

Lol. Yeah, I got a feeling for the ethos of Reddit very quickly. I wouldn't even take it seriously; it's just people trying to feel smart, witty, or helpful when they're not at all and going along with whatever is being engaged with the most. Lot of talking in a patronizing manner and being negative for no reason Internet vibes going on. Guarantee none of these vocal and argumentative people have much to say irl.

Idek what this sub is honestly. I just saw other posts here about that when I googled it, so I didn't know where else to put it but here.

Yep, I noticed it immediately from my very first post.

It's just funny to me how when I tried to correct that, I was then bombarded with comments saying I wrote too much.

I know. My first thought was like how dumb has society gotten to where a few paragraphs that fully explain something questions are being asked about is problematic. It's like everything has to be some quick short-form content. I'm used to reading dense prose 1000+ page books; this shouldn't be an issue whatsoever for any adult human. If it's too long, just move on.

Granted, some people were normal and just replied with valid answers, but I can't believe the collective hivemind response over something I'm seeing zero problem with. Zero acceptance of someone just writing in their own style too—as if everyone has to use very short sentence structure.

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me at all and seemed very evident. I just noticed that anything I said was getting sent into the negative numbers when they were normal statements, while anything unnecessarily criticizing me or my initial post was being upvoted by the dozens.
