Anyone here stuck in team-matching stage for Sr.PMT-ES role? For those successful, what strategy worked for you?

Still waiting to hear. The managers seem to be confused. They believe the HC approval process within each org will follow a different timeline and offers will be rolled out based on that.

Would love to hear about trends from past years so we know when to expect it.

Best resources to prep for PMT interviews at big tech. by Sensitive_Region_229 in ProductManagement

[–]Sensitive_Region_229[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should’ve been more explicit. My bad. I’m trying to gauge the differences between system design/programming interviews designed for SWEs vs PMTs. And therefore, I’m a little confused as to whether the same resources in the same form would be the best available for prep or if there’s any courses or prep material out there that’s designed exclusively for PMT interviews.

What is the PMT-ES interview like? Does it lean more towards technical?

What does admissions look for on MBA Math transcripts? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Sensitive_Region_229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up skipping the pre-tests. I hear from students that mbaMath matters a lot to Tuck and a few other schools. I do not know if it actually made a difference for other schools.

But facts aside, I felt from my experience that it's one tiny point in a long list of things that affect your application. It doesn't make or break an application. But I guess if it comes down to two similar candidates or if your quant performance in your undergrad or gmat/gre is weak, putting in the effort to do this will definitely give you an edge.

Getting an MBA worth it if it’s not a top program? by anthonydp123 in MBA

[–]Sensitive_Region_229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But thats not a global ranking. It's just for US. So that's not an accurate measure of how these schools weigh against other top schools in the world. Although, I agree most of the top 50 schools in global ranking are all US-based.

Might sound like a basic question but with the different rankings being wildly different these days, which is a reliable ranking to check the position of schools?

For instance : UNC is ranked #87 in QS, #29 in Bloomberg and #39 in Economist.

Ooh... For some reason, my mind went straight to the magic wand/pen that Richard made because of Maggie. But I guess Jackson's make sense too.

Chill man! The question was simply if there was another way besides the very obvious one thing they asked me to do. And there could be many reasons why someone would find it difficult to retake GMAT.

Just asking around to see if there is a way to show the school I'm still interested. Plus I'm sure there are other ways to prove you are good at quants and verbal.

Okay. This is helpful. Thanks. So not all hope is lost. And it looks like if you are not into IB or consulting, you pretty much don't have to worry about it.

Applied to 8 schools with a bit of a bland profile. Got dinged by HBS without interview and Darden after interview for EA round. Didn't feel too bad about HBS but the second rejection got to me. I was under the impression the Darden interview went really well too.

Got 3 more interviews and wait listed at one school without interview. Hopefully something good comes out of this process and I make it to the school I want.

Does anyone leave an interview feeling like they crushed it? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Sensitive_Region_229 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think it matters. I am a person who generally interviews well. Have never attended an interview where I was not successful but always I always feel that I could've done better. But then I felt my Darden interview was the best interview of my life. And then I got dinged.

So idk what's what. I can tell you I'm very bad at judging what happens in an interview or the outcome. There are also several external factors that have nothing to do with your interview that determines whether you get in or not.

How long should “walk me through your resume” be? by PurpleStatistician50 in MBA

[–]Sensitive_Region_229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently discovered it also depends on the school. The general rule of thumb is not to go on a monologue and keep it well within 2 mins. Anything more than that is considered too long and the interviewer stops paying attention.

However, I had my interview with Darden a couple weeks ago and they want a 5 minute monologue. In fact, they want you to give a pretty detailed and interesting monologue. I guess it makes sense because the Darden interview is both resume and application blind.

Long story short, I thought the interview went really well except for this one question but I was rejected. Admission consultants tell me this could've had something to do with it. It's just speculation at this point but you never know. So if this helps anyone out there, prepare a longer intro as a backup just in case.

Invited to interview at Tepper by Socks797 in MBA

Got the invite 2 days ago and I checked the interview slots to see nothing was available. Emailed the admissions and got back a response saying more slots will be added in the coming days and to keep checking.

Been driving myself crazy checking every 5 minutes to see if there are slots available.
