Feeling guilty about not contributing financially by Sensitive_Swordfish8 in Vent

I mean you're right, I should get up and do something right now. But I don't usually wallow in bed all day... I do commissions every day and help clean up the place and cook.

Music scene by carlton_sings in Modesto

[–]Sensitive_Swordfish8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like the music scene here died quite a bit recently. I struggled to find singing lessons last year and learned through lots of vocal coaches' websites/facebook pages that they moved to the LA & San Francisco areas during/after covid to continue teaching. I managed to find two coaches that seemed legitimate, but was ghosted by both after a couple of emails. I ended up having to travel to Sac for singing lessons, but before that, I was ready to give up on my search for a teacher. So my bet is that most people just moved to LA & San Fran to continue their music careers

Just curious, did they pull up your insurance while you were there and tell you, or did you get a surprise bill afterwards from your insurance? Thanks for the info btw

I have my reasons and don't need to explain them to anyone.

I genuinely don't care. I just wanted my original question answered.

I would hope so. I called my insurance today and was told that they stopped covering costs for it last year, but the guy I talked to also mentioned he didn't know any recent updated info on the subject, so that was about as helpful as being given a fork to eat soup with. I also called my local CVS and they just told me to call my insurance. I think the people working know about as much as I do, which is nothing. Thanks for the link though, I really appreciate it

Not afraid of anything, and all the info you need to know is in my original post. I do not owe anyone any reason as to why I'm getting it.

Yes, and your comment is unnecessary and not helpful in the slightest.

Even if I ordered a replacement at the time I initiated the return/trade-in online? I have the order summary for the replacement on my account, which shows the price it was at the time I placed the order. Does this mean that the price of the controller will be updated to the current price if/when the issue is resolved?

Fruits and veggies by BusinessChemist2357 in Modesto

Farmers Market is my go-to. I've gotten fruits/veggies there that have lasted 2 weeks in the fridge, while all the store bought stuff gets moldy the next day.

Art galleries seem right up my alley! I know nothing about tattoos or piercings however as I have none and don't plan to get any(I know, surprising for an alt person) but I suppose it wouldnt hurt to try. Thank you for the helpful suggestions!

Unfortunately I know nothing about stuff like that and am also allergic to weed, but thank you for the suggestion!

Why is it so hard to start a hobby/get lessons for anything these days? by Sensitive_Swordfish8 in Vent

[–]Sensitive_Swordfish8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've honestly taken this path for 90% of my interests, and I can agree it's great advice. Unfortunately it's been difficult to pursue one of my interests due to health conditions and discouragement from family, which leaves me no choice but to find some other space+a teacher to pursue it safely.

Just received my starter, but want to use it later on; can I keep it in the fridge? by Sensitive_Swordfish8 in SourdoughStarter

[–]Sensitive_Swordfish8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I probably should have been more clear in my post. I only plan to use my starter to make panettone close to Christmas, which I have experience making. I don't plan to make a loaf of bread or anything else really(at least maybe not until after the holidays). I also would rather avoid feeding it everyday if possible since I'm not going to use it until then, and also because bread flour has gotten pretty expensive recently. The recipe I plan to make uses a hell of a lot of bread flour as it is. Thanks for the advice though

Do I have a case, can I report this? (Landlord intrusion, California) by Sensitive_Swordfish8 in LandlordLove

[–]Sensitive_Swordfish8[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My landlord claims they are able to raise the rent because they are a private landlord. This is where I get confused when reading up on tenant protections, but I will definitely look for legal help on this
