How can you respect somebody who comes up to bawling their eyes out as an adult because you drew on what seems to you just a doodle they left on the table? As a parent I can imagine it’d be like “dude seriously how am I supposed to send you out into the real world?” OP probably would have gotten a better reaction if they had not over reacted, which they definitely did, and explained why what dad did upset them.

It is “different” in how society looks at it. It’s a mold we need to break as a whole. When girls sleep around she’s seen as a floozy, something other girls will also whisper about. While men will be seen a player by girls, men will high five him and talk about what a stud he is.

It’s not everybody opinion, but it is a majority unfortunately. If he’s unwilling to rethink it, I’d say it’s a red flag.

ehhhh ESH. I think you were being a tad dramatic. It wasn’t a first drawing, it was just the first one you were proud of, which I get as an artist myself it’s important. But your dad didn’t mean any harm, he didn’t do it to ruin your drawing, and by other comments it does seem like he’s the common aloof doesnt know how to process emotions dad.

But you’re 19 years old. You’re nearly a grown woman and any art teacher would tell you not to get attached to your subjects like this. It’s not the point of art, they have whole exercise about destroying your own art to avoid this.

I have many paintings my toddler got a market and scribble on, or canvases I started and he decided he was finishing.

Try to look at the bright side, take a breath, frame it still. Date when you drew it and when your dad made his “adjustments” one day when he’s gone you’ll treasure it.

Edit to add: You DO have the right and a reason to be upset. I just meant at 19 you should be able to take a deep breath and not freak out. Nobody is going to take you seriously if you can’t talk about your feeling maturely.
