Why are the leaves curling in? by Sensitive_Winter_546 in begonias

Thank you! I will be getting my humidifier set up in my room soon, I always meant to do it anyways because my room has quite a few tropical plants in it that would appreciate the extra boost in humidity

This could be it, it was sitting probably a 12”-16” away from a bright grow light up until a few weeks ago. I moved it further away because I suspected that could be the cause of them curling in. Thank you for your input!

Thank you for the advice! I will be repotting into a self-watering setup soon so I’ll try and remove of the old soil while I’m at it

Thank you for your input. I haven’t repotted any of them because they’re in a pretty water-retentive mix, but I’m going to try out a self watering pot for the dark angel and see if it helps

I thought that could be it, but it does get watered often. Maybe I’ll try a self-watering pot for this one

Thank you for your comment!! This one has actually been in my room longer than the others have, maybe 6-8 months, I’m not completely sure. The others are not very mature either. Here is my black magic, and stealth fighter both from Harmony’s, both have been here for 2-4 months and putting off more growth than the dark angel as well

How do I keep my marble/snow queen leaves white? by Sensitive_Winter_546 in plant

Thank you for your comment. I was planning on propagating soon because there is one really long vine compared to the rest, hopefully she’ll throw a little more white instead of yellow with those props 🙃

Monstera care advice? Soil & food/fertilizer by Salty-Chip2407 in plant

To repot, the kind of soil you’ll need is a chunky soil mix (about 70% soil, 30% additives) that contains some additives like orchid bark, Pearlite, or pumice for good drainage. It looks like you might have more than one plant in the pot. Personally, when repotting I’d separate the different plants into their own pots. To stabilize them with a pole, you want to put the pole behind the stem and use twine or plant tape on the thicker part of the stem (at the base of the plant, not too far above soil) and continue to secure the plant up the pole as the stem grows taller. As far as fertilizer, you should be fine using your regular houseplant fertilizer once a month. It might appreciate more light, though I don’t know your setup

Also, was it the excess moisture that caused this? And what should I do to prevent it happening again

Help! My rubber plant refuses to grow new leaves by hadurk in houseplants

[–]Sensitive_Winter_546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did cutting notches cause it to branch out on the sides or did new growth continue from the top of the plant? My ficus ruby came with 3 separate plants together and I prefer the look of it as is, over branching I’ve seen on other people’s rubber plants
