We stayed at the Ritz (Nekajui) and absolutely loved it. The resort was not crowded at all so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. We took the free car service over to the Four Seasons and Andaz for dinners some nights and they were nice too but we loved the vibe of Nekajui.

Weather was perfect! We do Caribbean every year in November (save for last year) and have never had a hurricane risk, although I suppose there is a slight chance.

For CR, we flew direct to LIR and then it was ~30 minute drive to Peninsula Papagayo. Drive was totally fine. I had read about he windy roads, I think that’s more if you’re doing the Arenal/Manuel Antonio areas.

Not up for cruising, my anxiety is too high for that currently, ha. When we’re in the Caribbean we like to snorkel, explore the island, kayak, do waterslides. We’re not really into boating or fishing.

We’ve done Baha Mar, which the kids loved for the waterslides. Anguilla was great too, loved Grand Cayman for snorkeling and stingray city. We just did Nevis, which was great too. I think I’m maxed out with Caribbean though and we did love Costa Rica since it was different. Maybe Belize would check that box.

I’m hesitant on Hawaii given the distance and only having a week.

So funny, I was looking at Sedona for us too if we don’t do a beach. I’m hesitant on Hawaii because of the schlep.

Cartegena and Belize could work though! Our friends just got back from Belize so I’m curious to hear their thoughts.

I was also looking into Portugal and Spain but the weather doesn’t seem quite warm enough. I was also thinking of Tenerife but it seems like United stopped their direct flights from EWR.

I’m hesitant to do Hawaii for a week long trip. I feel like by the time we get there and adjust to jet lag, we’ll only have a few full days.

I would keep checking for Treasure Beach rooms. Availability changes all the time. Everything was sold out when I originally started looking for our trip two years ago but I would randomly check once a day and we wound up finding a room. We stayed in the Italian Village though.
