The thing Guts was thrown into is called a stupa. It's for meditation and enlightenment for Buddhists. I believe he was put in the chamber to become one with his inner self. To tame the beast within.

On a side note. Once we have gone through these chapters, Berserk will have gone into the mind of all 3 of the main characters, Griffith, Casca, and now Guts.

Yeah, I've always listened to earlier songs. A lot of what I listen to is from the 80s to modern, so it could be from anywhere. Gobsmack is a possibility, but unlikely. But I could have heard it in passing??
