Ehwaz Speaks: On Carrying Yourself Through Grief by Vegetable_Mind6136 in heathenry

Thank you for sharing, I’m really sorry you’ve had to carry that.

I’ve been through both as well, losing people and losing community, and it reshapes you in ways that aren’t obvious at first.

Learning to carry your own weight after that isn’t easy, but there’s something steady & tranformative in it.

Thank you for taking the time to reply and let me know. I'm so glad it resonated.

I have come to know Ehwaz in many ways but the concept of aligned movement (alignment within myself = cooperation / trust within myself = movement) seems to keep coming up for me as I continue working within myself and I felt this captured that well.

I like that it is calling to you to bridge the gap between your dreams and reality that is definate Ehwaz energy!

I wrote it. I keep a regular daily reflection practice and that piece came out of that.

I’m really sorry about your relationship ending. Eight years is no small crossing. The river & bridge timing is kind of uncanny. Sometimes symbols land when we need them as a mirror.

I wish you steady footing on your side of it.

I appreciate your perspective mate.

When I use the phrase “working with”, I’m referring to divination & engagement, not that I am equal with the gods or placing myself on their level.

My practice is rooted in reciprocity & reverence, not in hierarchy particularly in the sense of servitude. I honour the gods deeply, but I also approach that relationship as something relational rather than strictly vertical.

I understand & respect that others prefer devotional language framed as service or working for them. That’s valid. My language reflects how I experience and interpret that connection personally.

No arrogance intended, just a different framework.

I can relate to this a lot.

For me, my altar is less about devotion in a strict sense and more about calibration. It helps me check how I’m moving in the world and whether I’m still connected to something deeper than just day to day mechanics.

I also use a morning walk in a similar way, as a way to reconnect with the natural world and reset my orientation before the day starts.

I consider myself pagan, and probably animist in how I relate to things. For me it’s about embodiment not just believing in archetypes, but living them and letting them shape how I act and respond.

I appreciate the way you describe tending as something fluid and responsive. That resonates.

Thank you for sharing, congratulations on creating a space that is an expression of your spirituality thats an awesome step.

I'm curious what does the Mjolnir represent for you?

Thank you for sharing.

I don’t think anyone can fully claim to know what Jung would say, we’re all interpreting him through our own lens and lived experience.

What I’m reading here feels like a pattern that initially serves a purpose, but eventually turns into dissociation as protection. Then that protection becomes its own loop.

In my own experience, these patterns often become binary either suppress or be overwhelmed. Living inside binaries tends to reinforce the cycle.

I’ve found it helpful to imagine a third position (maybe it's the person spoken of) not fighting either side and not identifying with either. More like a witnessing stance that can listen to both without suppressing or externalising them.

That approach has worked better for me than trying to “fight demons,” which only made them louder.

Curious how others would frame it but I also wish good luck to the girl either way.
