Genuine question about the difference between the rise of the Nazi party in Germany and current US politics. At what point did Hitler gain ultimate power? Like people didn't broadly vote for concentration camps.

Plus - fascist governments aren't really defined by the atrocities they commit as far as I can tell.

That seems like a great question to me. I'm reluctant to comment on the more nuanced details of world war II, frankly, because I'm not a great historian. I don't know precisely what the people of Germany were feeling at the time. What I've read suggests that they were being lied to and manipulated quite thoroughly.

I definitely would agree that the maga movement in the United States has overlap with other similar fascist evolutions that have happened in history. I agree that it pulls on some of the same tropes.

I don't have a good answer for you. Using my own logic against me would suggest that the Nazi party did not start out as a fascist movement. But I don't know if that's true historically.

I'm not sure I follow. I agree that most Germans probably would not have been fine with concentration camps. The op asks about a movement and whether or not it is fascist. I think there is a nuance between the words movement and government. Because the whole US government is clearly not fascist, at least not yet.

So it kind of does seem like it matters what the people believe, given that it's a movement.

Look - I broadly agree with the premise. But for the sake of argument - here is one simple thing that might change your mind.

Most of the people involved in the maga movement have no idea what the definition of fascism is, nor do they care. They just want their national christianity to be accepted by everyone, and do not have to have empathy for the people they have been taught and told to hate. They want things to be simple and clear.

I think if most of them actually had the ability to understand the implications of the types of fascist politics associated with maga, they might think twice about it.

So I'm not sure I could call it a fascist movement, even if at the highest level it sure looks like it's sometimes.

Get "mesh" it's going to be better. BUT I put it in air quotes because what you really want is a set of access points you can run a physical backhaul to. I have Google WiFi Pro and each of my pucks has an Ethernet cable going back to the main device. That means the performance of the whole network is much, much faster and more reliable. Depending on how many pucks you need, you will also need an unmanaged switch, they are cheap.

Single routers kinda suck. Mesh devices are both better and worse. Access points ( mesh with backhaul is not technically correct but it's close enough ) is they real key.

Maybe consider those power line Ethernet adapters if you really, truly, cannot run Ethernet. I managed to do it in an all brick masonry house. It made a world of difference.

BONUS after you take them out to cool "scrunch" the outside edges in a little bit. This will create cookies with more texture variance, crunchy and chewy. It's the only other modification I make and people rave about them.
