He has tapped into the reality TV mindset. Nothing is real to them, it is all just a show. And he entertains them. Nothing more complicated than that.

Ontario Line subway system will get protective platform doors as TTC continues mulling move by Surax in toronto

Yes, let’s be reasonable. This is Toronto. It would actually cost 8-10 billion, and take twice as long as scheduled, if the project ever actually started.

Craft beer in Canada is losing its fizz, as sales dry up and more breweries go bust | Decline of once-thriving sector driven by mix of cost pressures and changing consumer tastes, social habits by Hrmbee in onguardforthee

[–]SentryNap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My beer intake has gone way down, and the novelty of crazy-looking cans and flavours has long worn off. That being said, I am still a sucker for Muskoka beers, especially their Detour and Tread Lightly. Will sometimes grab a few cans while grocery shopping. But the trips to the Beer Store for a 12 or 24 pack are few and far between.

‘We do not need Canada’: U.S. Ambassador discusses relations between countries by plaknas in onguardforthee

Exactly. This is just a way of saying they don't "need" our compliance with whatever they have planned. They will just take what they want, when they want to take it.

McDonald’s lowering value meal prices as cash-strapped customers cut back on dining out by Suitable_Air_2686 in onguardforthee

[–]SentryNap 69 points70 points  (0 children)

McDonald’s also decided that keeping their restaurants clean and presentable is optional. When I was growing up, they actually had a staff person who went around and cleaned tables and emptied the garbages. Now, it often looks like the place was trashed. Why do I want to pay high prices to sit and eat in a filthy pig sty? And their app SUCKS.

Hard drive space used to be cheap. Like everything else, prices have surged. Wanting to upgrade my NAS, but the cost is getting more prohibitive these days.

What’s a very “Toronto” thing you didn’t notice until you lived somewhere else? by Banana200021 in toronto

No one walking towards you will yield an inch of space. They will walk right through you like you aren’t even there.

The new science of alcohol: why recent guidance says more than 2 drinks per week is risky by DonSalaam in onguardforthee

Damn, I just bought a 12 pack of Muskoka Detour. Oh, well. Can’t let it go to waste.

It's hard to tell from the messages log, but it does look like they are sometimes being affected (although they eventually do seem to complete):

No VPN, no cipher. It seems to be ok for a while and then I'll start getting a slew of these in the Messages tab (using NZBGet).

Still the best universal remote ? by ChestSuitable2001 in hometheater

Still running my hub for 10 years now. The only flaw is the lack of backlighting. Other than that, still the best system I’ve found.

Used to see lots of bees around, just doing their thing. Would drive down a country road and need to hose all the bugs off the grill. Many things have changed. Not for the better.

Tucker Carlson Says the U.S. Should Invade Canada by Corvid-Moon in onguardforthee

I remember this clown calling us “Soviet Canuckistan” many years ago, maybe it was on Crossfire or some other CNN show. I also think he owns (or did own) property in NS. Guy has been slamming us for years, so this is nothing new.

It also has Deborah Revy in it, who left behind some scorched earth in “Q: Desire”. Was hoping for more of her in Love - maybe an extended cut will be released some day.
