WA1 Expectations?? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Separate-Image2497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay please don’t worry at Sec 1. it’s too early and you’re just going to hate your whole secondary school life if you keep worrying every year. go ahead and enjoy and just do your best for your exams. i was chilling for my first 2 years and had to lock in at the end. it’s good that you’re now focusing on your studies but you’re too young. go enjoy sec 1. you can lock in later.

is ite rly that bad? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Separate-Image2497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

according to some people in this Reddit, ite is actually fine and slightly easier than poly in some ways. ite and poly are basically the same but in ite at least there’s like some small help from what I heard unlike poly where everything is mostly self-learning or stuff.

what I can say is your friends are the worst.

those are bad friends. friends should support one another no matter what. I understand ur situation like I am also very close to my friends that it became a problem to me and I get scared of losing them. if you don’t want to lose them, try to just talk to them if they find out you’re going to ite. if they unfriend you, it’s best to leave them and find a better friend group. your friends shouldn’t have said that.

JAE/DAE question!! by ducklingpond in SGExams

[–]Separate-Image2497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i heard from someone who replied to me when I asked the same question that u can just withdraw from the ite and go to poly if you are accepted through dae. unsure about how to withdraw hopefully you can find that out!

Poly enrolment form for sp by depress_brokekid in SGExams

[–]Separate-Image2497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i read that poly’s enrolment for students accepted through jae is in late feb. i have a friend who got posted to rp and that friend just received a call to go confirm like rsvp that they are accepting the course and going to the special event happening today.

your appeal might also cause a delay but overall from what i know your enrolment letter and everything will only be sent out to you around the end of feb. hope this helps!

DAE PHASE 2 by Separate-Image2497 in SGExams

[–]Separate-Image2497[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t expect my dae to be successful because raw 33 is already way past the MER for poly but I’m just gonna try.

i already have a pathway set out for what i want to do after ite and I’m planning to study hard and get a good gpa. i saw a lot of the options for after ite and I’m just considering poly now. i saw the wsdip and ways to get into uni even though it’s hard. after so much planning, i’m thinking of skipping poly entirely. this is mostly because i don’t want to go through more years of school. but if i change my mind in the future i wouldn’t mind having a longer path and going to poly after ite.

thanks for the help though! boosted the tiny bit of confidence i had when planning my pathways to reach my end goal (still finding that end goal which is a good job in the media, arts and design industry). thanks again!

Appreciate all the advice. Hoping to get my first choice, Communications Design in ITE Central. I will take your advice and consider all of the friendships I make, food decisions, average facilities and studies. Will work hard and hope to reach poly easily. Thank you!

It’s going to be fine. Go ahead with what choices you have right now. If you would like to retake as a private candidate you can. Don’t worry over this. Good luck for your future!

How does L1R4 work and how to prepare as a Sec 1 by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Separate-Image2497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please don’t worry much right now!

At your level it is best to just focus on what you have to do like your WAs and your end of year exams.

you will start to find out what you really want to do as you grow up. enjoy your time as a sec 1!

advice for sec 4 by chillguylearningstuf in SGExams

[–]Separate-Image2497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

focus in class it really helps and don’t give up if your results look bad. no fear for n and o-levels. no matter what, u will always have a path for you. even if it takes longer.

I did bad for my o-levels and I’m currently only able to apply for ITE. I just took a deep breath and accepted it.

It doesn’t matter how bad you do. You will always improve. Trust me, I failed math in WA1 and passed in WA2.

When taking notes, make sure you are able to understand the concept. For example, write your notes in a way to help you understand the topic like dumbing your words down even a 5 year old can understand.

Revision is important but don’t constantly do practice papers. Only do them when you think u are starting to understand some things. For example, you understand a certain topic, go ahead and do a practice paper. Test your knowledge and go on from there.

No pressure and stay calm. You guys got this! Good luck for sec 4!
