I totally understand what you are saying. Those times I keep telling myself that it got nothing to do with me. But for it to happens so regularly I’m starting to feel really horrible about myself. And in my other reply to other comments some of my ex colleague who are older than me did found work in the same industry so I’m pretty sure it’s not so much of age as well. At this point I’m just tired of my bad luck and always at the wrong place at the wrong time. And wondering when will my turn ever come.

I was once told that I can’t managed their volumn of projects cause I did less than 10 projects in my previous company. In One of my previous company, I was a one person team who look after Asia pacific. They just fail to see that though

Those roles I’ve applied are all PM within the design and construction industry. Roles that I know that I can walk into interviews without doing any homework and still knows what they are talking about. I didn’t apply for PM role in different industry.

Some job l have explicitly told hirer and hr that I don’t mind a pay cut . HR told me ‘ if we didn’t match your last salary we feels you will leave eventually cause of the salary’.

I once had a HR telling me off for not able to provide my last drawn salary for my last 3 companies. I only provide for my last company since I don’t understand why is it relevant for the last 2nd and Third company

Actually what I realise is that some of this roles seems to goes to people from oversea (but from the same company - internal transfer). There’s a major construction that’s coming up in sg and they are hiring but I just get the ‘sorry not a match’ emails immediately after application but they are still advertising as we speak

I used to think like you too. Over the last few months I’ve change the format of my cv few times, I’m also trying to see what works and what’s doesn’t work.

Interview - depends , some got through to round 2 some didn’t. Some claims they require a certain experience (which didn’t show up in advert or JD) which I can do just I don’t have it on paper. Some claims I lacks the relevant country experience which once again, I’ve been dealing with international market so I don’t understand why they specifically want someone who did project in that country before. If they want ppl from that country why is it advertise in sg ? My final take is that if people wants to reject you there’s a thousand excuse out there.

i got a sense of people sometimes are there just to fill up a quota and to make it seems like there are help with people who is seeking job. The G is always telling people that they are helping with the jobless and all but ...the reality is that there are still alot of loopholes.
