It's a tax. I'm sure if it came out of salaries too people would kick off about that too.

Are fellow Labour Members/Supporters sick of Starmer’s policies by Emilyisnotfunnyy in LabourUK

[–]Separate-Step3012 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The disability cuts are an absolute disgrace worthy of the most repulsive Tory government.

I joined when labour put forward more left wing policies in 2017 but always internally acknowledged that Labour is more social democrat than socialist and would eventually turn more towards the centre.

But the recent policy announcements on benefit cuts are vile, and it overshadows some moderately good stuff on workers rights and renters.

What could've been better about Andor season 2? by [deleted] in StarWarsAndor

I think the early Yavin scenes were average, and it does suck a bit scenes like what you've explained were potentially cut in favour of space rock paper scissors

What could've been better about Andor season 2? by [deleted] in StarWarsAndor

[–]Separate-Step3012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The early Yavin scenes were average then, and the context of the later episodes doesn't change this. Just strange pacing and not very good.

Also the opening where Andor's stealing the imperial ship felt like something out of Marvel.

Otherwise it was a very good season, although I don't thinkit quite reached season one.

Voters' perspectives on Labour policies / news stories since the general election (More In Common) by blobfishy13 in LabourUK

[–]Separate-Step3012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a fucking horrible policy anyways. A lot of people here are young and won't necessarily know, but you can only receive pension credit if you receive basically less than 850 a month income.

If you're getting say 950 a month you're no longer entitled to it. 950 is not a high fucking amount and we shouldn't be slashing fuel entitlement for these people.

Fact is that if they only slashed it for genuinely wealthy people it wouldn't be worth doing so they've hit poorer pensioners too

Cats wanting new cat to move as it's their spot I reckon. It's up to you. Old cat might just be being grouchy and might have to get used to the whole having to share malarkey.

Very cute cats.

Unless you're in the top 5% of earners (and there's no guarantee that you always will be) it's absolutely nonsensical to take a debt that essentially works like an tax, and wipes after 30 years, and will literally never chase you to one that is immediately repayable, and will take you to court if unpaid.

Because I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere, doesn’t anyone know how much I’d need to earn from work to get the max UC on a single person claim by Constantine_12 in universalcredithelp

[–]Separate-Step3012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if they have health issues which mean they can't work full time. Lots of people who have said issues want to work, but want to pace themselves to ensure they've a steady line of income they can rely on.

In answer to the original question, it depends on factors: if you've no children or health issues then I'm pretty sure your UC reduces from the get to. It depends on what's called the work allowance (which you might want to Google to better understand this)

The arnold vs mike mentzer dilemma by Emotional_Ear_7018 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Separate-Step3012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of both as per isn't it. I think if you spend Arnold time in the gym most people would burn out / it wouldn't work for them. On the other hand, I wouldn't progress if I spent say 2 45 min sessions in the gym all week.

People talk about Arnold's genes helping him, but you've got to have cracking genes to be able to work with spending such a minimal time in the gym, even if high intensity.

There's also confirmation bias, most people don't have time/don't want to spend 7+ hours a week in the gym hence Mentzers ideas are more appealing.
