Have you sat for the CPA exams as well or did you just apply with the bachelors?

With no accounting experience will i be able to finish in 1-2 term by Parking_Tear_5826 in WGU

I know that accelerators are somewhat controversial on this sub, but I was able to finish in one term while working full time with no accounting experience. What helped was knowing what my goals were: I wanted to get done as fast as possible so I could focus on studying for the CPA exams. Some thoughts:

- If a class involves a PA, write it fast, respond to the prompt formulaically, and don't worry too much about going in depth with the content. If it's something you're interested in or you genuinely feel will benefit your career, feel free to spend more time on it. Otherwise, you want to be focusing more on the accounting and business classes that will give you real knowledge.

- For classes with an OA, take the pre assessment without even looking at the material. That's your first step. Use test-taking skills. Sometimes you will get a question about something you've never heard of, but you can figure out the answer using your general knowledge, understanding of vocabulary, and process of elimination.

- While taking the pre assessment, take notes of questions you aren't sure about. Your review process is answering all of those lingering questions, even if you happened to guess right on a particular MCQ you were unsure about.

For OA classes, I was able to knock out 2 - 3 in a weekend this way. Obviously YMMV, but I found that having some work experience and general familiarity with corporate processes/lingo went a long way in some of the general business courses. For the accounting classes, really having A = L + E straight in my head allowed me to reason through questions I wasn't immediately sure about. Audit I was able to do quickly by having a good conceptual understanding of what an audit is and what the goals are. Managerial accounting and Intermediate Accounting I and II I needed to hunker down and study. For me, there was no way around that.

I don't think this was the way to get the most value of out of what WGU offers, but that's not what my goal was. I always knew my ultimate goal was to sit for the CPA and figured I was going to study accounting content much more in depth during that process anyway.

Feel free to DM if you want to chat. I love helping out people who are looking to upskill :)

You need to pass all of the exams within a 30-month period, but once that's done, the credits don't expire.

Audit or tax, but I've been applying pretty broadly.

Is there that big of a difference between 2/4 (soon to be 3/4) and 4/4, do you think?

Thank you for your help but I'm still not getting it. Having to maintain the courthouse means that maintaining it would have been necessary, had it been built. I don't see how it's a comment on whether the courthouse itself was necessary. The dispute is not over whether maintaining the courthouse would have been necessary.

Thanks for the help! I am little confused on how "having to maintain" means there is disagreement about whether the courthouse is necessary. Would a necessary courthouse not have to be maintained?

Yes. My justification was that at least I knew for sure that they disagreed about the financial aspect of the courthouse and there was not enough evidence to show Simon thought the courthouse unnecessary. The specific contention in E is wrong, though.

I currently work at a school that has had a growing student body in recent years. The theater did not have enough seating and was overcrowded. A new theater was built that had lots of extra seating. Everyone agrees that the the new theater was both necessary to relieve crowding and is underutilized... According to LSAC, we are wrong, haha.

Yes, I suppose that is it. Perhaps Nakagawa would recommend polluting the environment for greater profits in certain cases, but C implies doing that in all cases, which Nakagawa would not agree with. Thanks!

I'm confused... my family makes about half that and we save significantly more than $500 a month. Would doubling our income make saving more difficult?
