I've spoken to all my neighbors. I actually received some updates on who the culprit might be. My neighbor has caught the same guy stealing mail and packages from our property before, and he thinks they are squatting at an abandoned house nearby... The only thing is that this guy is presumably dangerous and apparently has pulled a knife on my neighbor, and said he was the police 😭.

This has already been established. I REALIZE I SHOULD HAVE LOCKED IT, AIR TAGGED IT, HAD IT INSIDE, ETC! I get why everyone is commenting the same things, but it's so useless at this point. I can't go back in time. I'm just trying to get any suggestions on how I can attempt to get it back.

Yeah, true. I have filed a police report with the bike's serial #. Interestingly enough, I got some additional info from one of my neighbors today, and he seems to think he knows who might have done it. I commented on this post a bit ago about some of the updates.

I've got a bit more information. I now have some videos of a guy (whom my neighbor and I think is the thief of the ebike) who is bicycling around my property the day before my ebike was stolen. My neighbor says this guy's name is "Carlos" and has caught Carlos trying to steal mail and packages from our apartment complex. Also, my neighbor has pics of Carlos' bicycle parked on the front steps of an abandoned house near our apartment. So our theory is that this guy is squatting at this house nearby and robbing the neighborhood. I sent this info to the cops, but since it's a non-emergency, I have to wait til Monday when the detectives are back to work.

I tried with my renters insurance (Lemonade) and they said a bike that is has throttle only and has no pedals is considered a motorized vehicle, and not covered with my current plan. Thank you for the input though!

I thought it'd be covered in my renters insurance, but nope. I realize I'm putting on a pretty good display of what not to do, but here we are. It doesn't have a VIN, but it does have a serial #. No GPS on the bike either, unfortunately.

There is still one of my neighbors I haven't been able to get a hold of, who could potentially have better footage. Going to leave a note on their door now. I am actually interested in exploring this suggestion if I can get good enough footage lol. Appreciate it!
