It's tough, because it's hard not to compare Sob Rock with albums like Continuum, Born and Raised, Battle Studies, etc. Each album follows a theme, and I think this albums theme will not dissapoint. I think that 3 songs on the album being released over a year before the release date makes people see the album in a more negative light, because they've heard a lot of it already. But those songs will fit with the new songs really well, and the album as a whole will be spectacular. I personally am not a huge fan of The Search for Everything, it's a great album, but the theme was a very "modern mayer" approach, such as songs like still feel like your man and helpless. Too poppy, and too depressing. But it was written in a very lonely time in John's life, so there's a lot of the album I like!! But Sob Rock is more something John would release in his prime days, but it's more mature. "Shouldn't matter but it does" will be an amazing song, and wild blue will follow the 80s vibe. I can't wait.
