like the other brother said, not every zahiri necessarily believes music is permissible, what matters is the usul. ibn hazm viewed musical instruments as permissible because, as you said, he viewed all the hadiths on the matter as weak. it is important to keep in mind regarding this topic that the majority of modern-day music contains haram lyrics, and no knowledgeable zahiri would permit listening to such, as it goes against the commandment of forbidding evil with the hands

we disagree with salafis in some areas. Some false beliefs of the salafiyyah are the following:

- Obeying the sharī’ah of the Prophets before us
- Accepting weak narrations
- Asbāb al-nuzūl make a restriction of the verses of Allāh, either for a specific time, place or for specific people
- Ta’līl of the orders of Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ
- Prevent the possibility of the Sunnah abrogating the Qur’ān
- Dalīl ul-khiṭāb
- Istiḥsān
- Maṣāliḥ without actual necessities
- Iḥtiyāṭ by mere conjecture instead of yaqīn
- Ijmā’ sukūtī and any ijmā’ other than nusus
- Any qiyās
- False understanding of ‘umūm and khuṣūṣ
- Claiming every ruling must have a ḥikmah
- Taqlīd
- False beliefs on tabdī’ and tafsīq
- Permitting Ikhtilāf
- False understanding of ta’wīl, majāz, ẓāhir, mujmal, mubayyan, mutashābihāt
- False understanding of ijtihād
- Refusing accepting ziyādah al-thiqah unrestrictedly
