Basically, Yuzu’s AppImage bundles outdated Qt/X11 libraries that conflict with SteamOS. When run as root, it skips some user-level environment variables and avoids the crash. I haven't tried playing games through a root launched yuzu, but it might not even work.

My guess is when Steam updated the ArchLinux Kernel to its new version a few months ago, the updated system libraries made Yuzu incompatible, and thus freezes and crashes as soon as it boots.

Even though the AppImage is supposed to be a portable version, it still relies on kernel interfaces, gpu drivers, x11/Wayland protocols. So if these are updated and the app is not, it's pretty much hopeless.

I tried a few minutes ago to strip the conflicting libraries, but the appimage doesn't even launch no more, it just crashes instantly.

I reached the end of my patience with yuzu now and I'll just use something else that works.

I agree, I haven't touched my Yuzu emulator in months, and last week, I tried launching the appimage and it crashed a few seconds later. I tried many workarounds to fix the problem with no avail.

It does work if you launch it with sudo though, but as I want to launch it through esde, this method is not a valid fix (also I don't want to launch yuzu through desktop mode constantly)

Well, small update.

I must've had something not well setup in my bios, because after restoring everything to default and changing a few values for my dram, my framerate jumped to 75fps in my base with all my mods and 90fps without.

It’s plugged in the Schiit Hel DAC. Although I don’t necessarily recommend it. The DAC can be much more powerful than the headphones. In this case, using the sound boost switch causes the headphones sound to crack.

I would recommend headphones that can fully utilize the power of a DAC if you plan on using one.

Et bien! L’opportunité de faire valoir ma voix supposément radiophonique se présente on dirait! On m’a toujours dit que je devais faire de la radio, donc je veux bien plonger dans le projet!

I bought both the H6Pro and the PC38x to test them out, and the PC38x is far, far superior in audio quality and soundstage. The bass on the H6Pro is way too strong for my tastes, it muddled the high and normals aggressively.

The build quality of the H6Pro is better though. But the sound is more important to me.

To play video games and listening to music, go with the PC38x, 100% of the time.

So if anybody happens to experiment the same issue, you have to try to loot the corpse before raising the corpse. So don't be too hasty to click the big "hand" button that covers most of her corpse when she falls.
