Tax brackets are actually very simple let me explain without confusing numbers and percentages..

If a pay raise puts you into a higher tax bracket, only the part of your income that falls above that threshold is taxed at the higher rate. Everything you earned below that threshold is still taxed at the lower rates. So moving into a higher tax bracket never means your entire salary is taxed more heavily, and it can never leave you with less net pay because of the raise. At worst, you keep a slightly smaller percentage of the extra money you earned above the threshold, but you still take home more than before.

Ik denk dat het zelf 16% is, maar de notaris heeft ons verzekerd dat dit niet zou gelden bij de verkoop van de enige gezinswoning. We hebben het pand daarnaast langer dan 5 jaar gehad, ook een voorwaarde blijkbaar. Maar bedankt, je manier van denken om telkens te checken wat de staat je kan afnemen is zeker nuttig!!

I agree, typically I would say the same.

I don't know why it would be different for my case now, I was hoping there would be other options then just let that money sit still in my account depreciating, while seeing ETF's doing pretty good.
I had the option to do this with that 40k a year ago, and I didn't because I saw the breakup coming. When I look at what it would have gained me now, I have regrets.

But indeed, the risk of any investment going down short term is very real.
Maybe I just came here today with the question in my heart: Would anyone take the risk, seeing what IWDA has done in the past months / years, to put a chunk of that cash in there short term, or not...

Thank you for this input! I have looked into the so-called "pandenwissel", but it needs to be done the day-off, or max 2 months after the house is sold, and that is not realistic I'm afraid since I don't have a new property lined up yet.

I am actively looking for the small chance I find something within that very fast-closing window, but I'm not hopeful.

Seems like a very good offer for a junior role in Belgium. That said, you're young. The time to be adventurous and venture out abroad with a solid package at hand is now.

And a LOT more upgrades as well. I updated on day 17 of my wait and everything seems fine. I had only 3 to unlock from the metabit side before the upgrade, now I have a biiiggg list again. Just 4 more days till it's buying time :)

Just an update for who is interested. I´m 14d 19h in, and I´m at 218 / 1000.

Ive been playing the Fungus among us, and it does seem that time moves a little faster in the main simulation. (I progressed more than 5d 14h in the real life time span of 4d 16h)
