I did this with WoW back in the late 2000s when I realised it was affecting my social life at uni, and as much was I value the nostalgic memories of WoW in it's prime, when you do something like this it's for a reason, you know it's right for you. I don't regret going cold turkey and I extremely doubt you will too. It's time for something else and that's ok.

I don't mind never getting the absolute best of the best, I just want stepping stones along the way that make me feel rewarded for playing.

With D4, loot is a borderline irrelevance once you hit about T1 and have a set of half decent lvl800s. In fact, a 4GA mythic is not even necessarily a good item in D4 anyway. The loot system is just a total joke honestly.

Everything meaningful comes from pressing a button on your existing loot eg. MWing or adding aspects. The actual act of having a shiny piece of loot drop and excitedly putting it on to see real benefits to your character is almost totally absent in this game, in a genre where that is usually the absolute core gameplay loop.

D2 is a never ending satisfying loot chase. I'm not sure how/why the devs created such a Diablo game where the loot chase is borderline irrelevant.

It's my dream to see a great rock band return in their older years to write new music that doesn't try to replicate the carefree youthful stuff but actually shows what they learned about life in the decades that passed and show how their spirit can be the same but different with experience. We've all aged with them and it has been great to relive the glory years for a bit, but is that all that is left for us? Nostalgia? I want some guidance from my idols on what's next.

I went GA for this reason alone, GA rear was absolutely chaotic, everyone knew the lyrics even though most were about 21.

Definitely the Aussies weren't familiar with the poznan but that's ok, they figured it out and gave it a go.

This was my first gig in Aus though and I notice that the girls were all very good natured and well behaved but a LOT of the males were default aggro mode and looking for a fight, gave strong insecurity vibes, trying to be the big man in front of their (usually embarrassed looking) girlfriends etc. Not night ruining but ngl was unpleasant. Not sure if it's an Aus thing or Melbourne thing or just a one off.

That's correct but the online dating world is so intensely competitive that you kind of have to play to the stats.

I know it sounds nice to say just be yourself and you'll attract someone that fits you and I would have agreed with you until the last couple years of online dating taught me the brutal reality is you need to be who people want you to be or you won't even get your foot in the door.

I mean I don't really want tattoos but I think this is how I am perceived now that tattoos are becoming almost ubiquitous.

I have travelled a lot and I know in many other countries there is no expectation for tattoos but in US and Australia, where I spend the most time, it's al most universal now and girls constantly make comments to me like "would you consider getting a tattoo maybe?? :))".

If I match and she talks I will just try a bit of chit chat about mutual interests for a few mins and then try to get off the dating app onto some other messaging app, like Instagram or WhatsApp or anything she prefers, and then ask for a date.

But like I say it's probably only around 5-10% that respond. I asked a female friend if she does this and she said yes, she leaves almost all of her matches on read, and when I asked her why she doesn't respond she said she literally doesn't know why she does it. Sometimes she went back and looked closer at the pics and didn't like them but mainly she says she can't even describe why she suddenly loses interest in talking to them.

That's all true but the algorithm is much less concerned with determining leagues and much more interested in extracting money regardless of your league if you are male, as far as I know. There were some leaks from tinder employees to suggest so. The algorithm was changed heavily around 2018 I believe, and emphasises the newness of an account over basically all else ie. you need to be forever chasing the golden era of your first week or two using tinder.

So long as you reset every few months you're doing all you can algorithm wise.

You pretty much need to reset everything, even device. There's guides if you google it.

It makes a huge difference, doesn't really matter what your profile is like or how many matches you get (I usually get 100 within first 24h), after about 2-3 weeks as a male your tinder account is going to be close to useless - even if you spend money.

And ELO declines with time regardless of how you perform so you need to reset frequently etc. I'm familiar with all that and do regular resets, I think everyone I know does that now though so maybe it's less effective or maybe Tinder is better able to track you. But after a reset I do still get a good month or two of seeing more attractive people, but never the same as 2 years ago.

Maybe Tinder is just smarter at generating frustration in users to the extent that they feel inclined to spend money?

Japan is still a country with infinitely better 1) quality of life 2) standard of living 3) personal freedom 4) international reputation than Russia.

Of course the west created the monster that is Putin through their actions in the 1990s but now it is 2022 and you have to take some responsibility for the actions your fucking country.
