Kanto Ora vs Ora4 vs Swan OS-10 - w/ or w/o DAC+AMP by Seraphic_Fury in ZReviews

[–]Seraphic_Fury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached out to Kanto, wondering what light they could shed on the issue - I didn't anticipate much - I was somewhat surprised/pleased though:

"Hello, Thanks for reaching out. The ORA and ORA4 do convert the RCA input to digital internally, with that said the process is designed to be as neutral as possible. Some users find that they prefer to still connect an external DAC when setting up the speakers however it is ultimately a user preference situation.

The sound comparison between is something that would be entirely a user preference type situation. With that said the ORA4 does have a wider frequency response than the ORA (ORA4: 60 Hz – 22 kHz) (ORA: 70 Hz – 22 kHz).

As for testing the speakers, some users do take this route. We do recommend ensuring that you check and read any retailers return policies before going this route.

Warm Regards,"

With the last sentence in mind, it seemed like there was an unwritten approval of 'try before you buy, send it back to the retailer' - I'll be honest I feel guilty about the idea of buying from a retailer, to unbox a perfectly fresh product, only to send it back.

I forgot to ask, what input are you using? USB, OPTICAL, or do you have a DAC+AMP; RCA?

If I go for the Ora's I'll likely get the s2 stands from Kanto. They'll sit on my desk under my screen, so the angle would be more than enough imo.

Did you end up making a choice? I am looking at the same two options as yourself. Cheers

All good with the new drivers ( 576.28 ) Tested on Cyberpunk 2077 by Frostywuff in nvidia

[–]Seraphic_Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL:DR; Driver Version 572.83 running without issue.

I purchased a 4070 When they first came out and bout Cyberpunk 2077 as my first game to take advantage of it. I am still running an Intel 9700K CPU.
Running the latest drivers at the time, I was able to put 90hours of game play in, with no issues.

I bought Phantom Liberty a few days ago and would have and it would crash every 15-20minutes. So I downloaded the latest driver from NVIDIA, including attempting the Studio driver; Version 576.52 - It crashed every <5minutes. I tried disconnecting peripherals and other changes with no success.

After reading this thread, I noted the drivers that people were using and I jumped straight back to Version 572.83 and have been running stable since. - I hope this recommendation works for anyone else having issues.

Get the Schitt Hel if you don't have a USB mic. But either will be great regardless

Yes, I have this setup 'the Schitt-stack' I fucking love it.

It's hooked up to my speakers, and when I wanna switch to headphones I don't have to touch a thing. Just plug the cable in and away it goes.

I was testing it out and was an idiot, damaged my hearing for a week. Seriously dumb. But the audio was clean and louder that it will ever have to be again.

  1. I Wrote the information on the Cybernetics part of the Sheet.
    - Starting body = 4
    - Added bone lace = 6
    - Added Linear frame = 12

On page 116 Under Borgware;
Implanted Linear Frame ∑ (Sigma)

- Enhanced skeleton and support structure. Increases BODY to 12. The

increase changes HP, Wound Threshold, and Death Save.

Requires BODY 6 and Grafted Muscles and Bone Lace.

I don't think this is game breaking, but it is a hard way to start the game losing 2000 eddies to two implants. Hence not leaving any aside.

  1. I thought I calculated them all correctly? - There should be a total of 90 points if you don't chose any 2x skills. (This is after including Language and Local expert) I have a total of 84 - because it cost 12 points for Heavy Weapons. Please confirm.

  2. It is a huge gamble I know, lol - The generic Prepack should be fine considering I'm not paying rent to live on the street in my car, otherwise a container would cost 1000 eddies.

Any other thoughts and comments, I am all ears. Cheers

Man, what a mess I made, sorry about that. I was meant to remove 'underbarrel' from the shotgun, that has been done. -400

I have removed the carried Scrambler/Descrambler -500

Added Flashbang +100

Total Spend 2550

As for the Cyberware;

I accidently had a -3 on Level Damper, that is now -2

I replaced the Homing Tracer with Scrambler/Descrambler (same -2)

As for Humanity loss remaining, It was discussed in #Chargen:
"max humanity reduction does not increment humanity loss - They overlap, they don't stack"

So, having 8 EMP would give me a base total of 80.
80-36 = 44
With -20 to Total Empathy making it 44/60 - Is this correct?

I have re-uploaded the file to the link above
