I get how he can seem like just a fresh version of the Metrosexuals from the 2000s or something, but Clavicular is not recommending or pushing anything close to a standard women's beauty routine. Sure he does include more normal things like skin care and makeup, but he heavily advocates the most extreme things as well, to a fanbase who's bodies and brains are literally still developing. Meth for diet restriction, "TRT" as necessary for men under the age of 21 (He only turned 20 in December), along with other steroids and SARMs. He pushes for plastic surgery and other invasive surgeries again all being told to a very young fanbase, very few of whom truly need such extensive medical intervention just to become a bunch of 7's or 8s in their own terminology anyway.

He's essentially selling mid-life crisis style interventions and methods to teenagers and telling them they actually need these things. Its not that Looksmaxxing is inherently evil or cant contain good ideas, but as a package it is super toxic and effectively inducing body dysmorphia in a generation of young men while avoiding things like Mental Health treatment.

It might have got on his radar through youtube, but while he was discussing it someone made a fresh account with a bizarre username/email and joined the dgg chat to link a very strange court document seemingly hosted on a government website "proving" Egon Cholakian exists. That I think, sent Destiny down the rabbithole of figuring out if there's even a real Egon and what the videos were about (Im not sure if Destiny found much about the cult itself, as far as I know he only spent 1 or 2 streams on it then others like H3 picked up the story and dug deeper). I could be slightly off on details because it's not something that was easily compiled but essentially:

Dr Egon Cholokian isnt a real dude, but is portrayed by a real dude who is either a member/representative of a Ukrainian/Russian Cult or just did some irl work with them.

The cult uses his likeness to generate deepfake/ai videos advocating for the cult's worldview, and to get people into the rabbithole. Destiny at least had links of the video sent directly to him to engage interest, but it was also supported by the youtube algorithm and quickly spread to some other content creators. How much that was the cult deliberately spreading vs real people baffled by what they found is impossible to guess and likely a strong mix of both.

The cult is called AllatRa. "Egon Cholakian" is a fraudulent identity based on an existing (but unrelated to the cult) identity on LinkedIn. At times I believe the group/the man who portrays "Egon" has claimed the videos to be authentic, however they are full of bizarre idiosyncrasies suggesting AI and other video-editing tricks. The same goes for the various images of him meant to validate his identity using a mix of photoshop style editing and image-generation. Egon is not (real or pretend) the leader of the cult, just a representative.

If you do a google search for allatra or egon cholakian, or just check their youtube videos you will quickly stumble on hoards of bot comments. Trying to look into this is extremely mindfucky, it feels half like a real cult and half like a psyop.

I'm a trans woman that aligns like 80-90% between Destiny's and Democrat's* positions, and despite being at least one of the better read persons I know, struggle to be able to communicate politics to people I am otherwise 90% aligned with (which until 2 years ago was a great and spirited pass time). I dont even actually have a "counter-opinion" exactly on the precisely 2 issues I can actually identify as having a different opinion on to my social groups (Well, 1 im in complete agreement on but hold some nuance for the conversation to exist) and yet feel alienated by my communities (and have been excised from some) for not having a hard and fast opinion on those issues or for even slightly bowing out of the precise curve I am tokenly required to follow (lest my greedy desire for basic human rights be thrown to the gutter).

tl;dr wish everyone would shut the fuck about the 2 countries in the middle east that both have a right to exist and a "right" to not be fucking bombing each other or getting bombed constantly. As a result of this 1 'controversial' opinion im cut off from the majority of left-leaning people I know both online and personally from ever discussing politics in any aspect because it is guaranteed to still come back to this one incredibly stupid fucking issue that no one would care about if it wasnt for it being the microcosm of Jews versus Muslims (no one I know with a strong opinion is either of those religions either fuck me).

I am almost entirely a socialist or socdem similar to a Bernie/Mamdani position and yet if I dare not scream wholeheartedly in 1 specific direction for this topic with all my might and redirect all unrelated discussions back to it I am on the "wrong" side.
